Just not enough 'diversity'...just like 1969 actually was within 'The Industry'. The truth hurts.

If Snakes On A Plane was shot in 1969, they would have probably cast Peter Graves or Chuck Connors in his role.

It‘s that sort of period detail I respect.
Kool like Arthur Lee‘s psychedelic glasses. :)

Me too...but by '69 Arthur had moved on to that trendy "Ameicana" look favored by CSN (&Y):

Still think David Fincher‘s Zodiac opening shot of San Francisco night city scene with Santana‘s Soul Sacrifice is more evocative of the time period than QT‘s Hollywood flick. No dirty hippie chicks though I must admit. :)

Now that is a classic. Probably QT‘s most accessible film. Nothing royal cheesy about it.

Driving around listening to the OST is sort of a complementary experience to the movie (though Wisconsin circa 2019 is not L.A. circa 1969). Much like A.M. radio back then, some songs are annoying but nothing last too long, some songs are ok, and the rest really rip your speakers, "Hush" by Deep Purple in particular. "Hungry" and "Good Thing" by the Raiders shows how hard they (or studio musicans) could rock and "Mr Sun Mr Moon" shows how close they veered to the inane. OK they actually tipped over into it. The only real distraction is "Mrs. Robinson" which just doesn't seem to fit, in the movie either imo.

Wish Quentin would have used his 'Mrs Robinson' budget for a couple lesser known (or more forgotten) songs like Joe Jeffries "My Pledge of Love" or the First Editions" "Ruby Don't Take Your Love to Town" that were on the charts then....

I liked the alternate version where Pam started dancing. That would have immediately projected more attitude than "oh oh I'm late for work". As daring as he is sometimes QT seems to... idk, back off from his better ideas...

"Mrs. Robinson" is playing when Cliff picks up the young hitchhiker... gender reversal, but apropos. :) Similar to the use of "Out of Time" when QT was depicting what in real life was Sharon's last day alive.

I live in Baltimore. The 'Dick Wolf template' does not really apply here (or anywhere near here).

Right and that's why he should have used the Neon Philharmonic's "Morning Girl". Or the Sandpiper's "Quando M'imnamoro" would have worked great. The film got all Graduate-y there for a minute and really took me out of the otherwise perfectly sustained mood.... (why doesn't anyone check with me before they spend millons of $ on these films. I can help! )
