I read it’s being put back till December, there’s no date on iTunes either, frustrating. Is it November in the US and December in Europe maybe ?
As far as I know, Amazon is still saying November 5th for the physical home video for Once Upon a Time:
Sony To Release Extended Cut Of Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon A Time’ This Friday With 10 Minutes Of New Footage Sony To Release Extended Cut Of Tarantino's 'Once Upon A Time' This Friday With 10 Minutes Of New Footage
I looked up the film on Amazon and each listing - DVD, BD and 4K - lacked a release date. Also, 11/5 is less than 2 weeks away - pretty sure there would've been an actual announcement before a release. It ain't coming out 11/5...
I saw somewhere that the expected date is around the 10th of December, but I don't remember what site that was.
QT/Hollywood:Blu Ray out November 5th. Will it have the extra 10 minutes included with the new theatrical cut that’s been shown in cinemas December, 2019? If not .... Means you have to get the standard theatrical cut on bd/dvd. Then a month later see the revised longer cut in the cinemas. Not getting China release ( they want Bruce Lee scene edited out). QT, refuses to cut his film for Chinese market.
That's more realistic than 12 days from now, but who knows? Some sites just make up release dates and hope they're right!
It's got Leo (dude in the Titanic) and Robbie in it, though. I don't know how popular Brad is/was there. But the other two are two of the biggest movie stars right now (in the world, at least). It would be a cultural mindbender if it aired there. They don't like Bruce's scene at all, or just the part there he gets thrown against the car? Just cut away after Brad goes down. Stuff used to get cut for TV all the time and even in 'liberated' countries. In some ways I think it's far more important that people see this film there now, even if the Bruce scene gets cut (it's kind of a dumb scene anyway, in comparison to the rest of the film). Refill the time with a scene that Tarantino himself originally cut out, like the ten extra minutes that's being bandied about. He was hobnobbing with Harvey and now he's a stickler for censorship on moral and ethical grounds? When in Rome...
I guess he just figures he’s gonna take home $100m and China can stuff it. He loves Cliff more than the Chinese govt or money. Cool.
Is this getting a release in Europe as well ? Bit ridiculous this as you can guarantee it won’t be on the blu ray.
Yes! That what I said “a theatrical experience” it seems. If I see the extended version in the theatre..then why should I get the shorter Blu ray version.
I've seen this many different times with many different audiences and everyone nearly always warms to the movie eventually. For most people it's the Bruce Lee scene, and for others it's the scene with the little girl. Almost everyone likes the scene at the ranch and, of course, everyone loves the ending. The best audiences get it right away - then you know you are going to have a good time - but everyone gets it eventually.
Saw the new footage and it's interesting but doesn't add much to the movie. The body of the film is unchanged. A few "commercials" at the start and some leftover "Lancer" and "Bounty Law" footage at the end. You get to see more Luke Perry and Julia Butters which is nice.
Well I prefer it to the little girl scene that was a excruciating long. Is Tim Roth in the 10 min extra cut?
Little girl scene = not my fav for sure. Pean to #metoo. I put one in my last Script too. Male fear! Indon’t think roths in it. Some one would have said something. I didnt see the extended cut, though. Ten times in theater enough.
