Mark Hollis LP is great, but CD is almost the same quality. Beautiful music.
But you definitely need to narrow your list to number 20)

    Here's my pick!

I purchased it on vinyl from a local record shop and will be picking it up tomorrow. And I'll be purchasing other titles from this incredible list of recommendations - currently at 132 titles (!) - as time goes on.

Thanks again for the suggestions and please feel free to keep them coming!

Great pick!!! I finally started listening to the Stooges a few months ago and Fun House is one of the rare few albums by anyone that I loved after just one listen!

Thanks to those of you who recommended the Mark Hollis album. Will be getting that on vinyl soon.

It's a strange album.... one of the few albums I've heard that actually NEEDS to be heard on CD. I love vinyl, but the issue with the Mark Hollis album is you need to hear it with no surface noise or crackles, it's such a quiet album in parts even a small tick can spoil it for you. The beauty in that album is in the space in the tracks, the air that Mark gave to the songs to breathe.

You might want to give this thread a quick read Mark Hollis - Mark Hollis Vinyl reissue

I nominate Wussy either Funeral Dress or Strawberry. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these fine records. For me Wussy is the best band of the 2000's

Another one that you should check out, and I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned yet is this one.....

Even though my pick was Discharge, Cocteau Twins. My favorite is Heaven Or Las Vegas. The Hollis record is incredible, but I’d buy the CD.

This is why the Mark Hollis LP was eliminated from my short list (I had it in my top 5 when I was narrowing it down). I got cold feet after reading about issues with the vinyl.

Howlin Wind is a great suggestion
Mine would be either Judy Collins In My Life or Nilsson's "Nilsson Sings Newman"
I think I would go with an original LP, for these, but I haven't done any type of comparison,
The CDs are not that hard to find...
    Both are good solid albums....
On the Nilsson, some of the CDs have one or two extras... the song "Snow" is really nice, would have worked on the album well I think...

You should add it to your collection because it has the ability to make you float on a cloud of reflection and peace.

My most prized LP is rare to find: Garland Frady's Pure Country from 1973. It was produced by Michael Nesmith and Frady is Nez's vocal doppleganger.

Cool, what the hell is it? This is why people should label videos.
