This 1963 publication seems to predict a future Beatle song. What followed were 16 time-stamped images documenting how the lads spent the day ...ending with receiving the Silver Disc award for "Please Please Me".

  2. Just noticed that the post card in the black and white photo covers up the drink in the hand in the color photo. Mmmmm. Wonder if they were under age, lol!

    Here's an odd one:

   They borrowed another band's instruments!!! (but not the amps  )
Can anyone find more photos of shed some light on this?
Judging by the amplifiers I'd say it's from late 63/early 64 (before the trip to the states, when they changed to the Vox AC-50s)

This pic came a book called "The Beatles - The Complete Illustrated Story" by Terry Burrows, btw.

And a couple of favorites from the same book attached...

Here's one of 3 photos I have of the Beatles on stage in Hamburg in 1962. I do not know if these are Astrid's work or not. Hope to post the other two shortly.

When the Fan Club folded in 70/71 they sent a letter saying that they were sorry and enclosed a few bits from around the office. Amongst a number of things, they sent these 2 pictures, neither of which have I seen anywhere else. Might be the I ME Mine session ?

They look like 1970 to me, but I can't say for certain what part of the year. Anyone have any photos that are definitely from later in the year? Maybe we can compare. It's amazing what you can learn by observing Beatle facial hair in the later pics.

    I can't believe I just said that.

Mostly likely I'd say they were from the sessions for All Things Must Pass.

I posted the same picture and query on Voxtalks some time ago..the general opinion was that the equipment was borrowed from the Dakotas...most likely for the sound check during a 6 night stint in Wales (Aug'63)..they shared the bill with Billy J. Kramer and his band. It sure matches the gear that they were using at that time. They also drove to Manchester to tape a couple of appearances on Granada TV...probably explains not having their gear on hand, possibly Mal stuck in traffic somewhere??

I didn't notice this one posted yet. The last known picture of John and Paul together, taken in 1974.
