Agree with the Byrds one, but I've always thought Early Morning Cold Taxi was a lame song that deserved to be left off the album. Now, the Coke jingle or the longer Jaguar song? Those DEFINITELY should have made side two!

No, I'm not insane. It's got an amateurish melody (compare it to the wonderful melodies of the songs that made the album) and dumb lyrics. I'm not the biggest fan of Girl's Eyes, but it's a better song than Cold Taxi, IMO.

It's a shame that the song "August and Everything After" was not on the album of the same name...

I totally agree, make the us and uk versions standard by having demon's eye & strange kind of woman
I also agree about dropping anyone's daughter - a ridiculous choice

  14. I’ve always felt that The Girl I Knew Somewhere should have been on The Monkees Headquarters. They could have put one with Mike’s Lead vocal on one and Mickey’s on the other.

Thanks for posting, it's not like Under the Radar is a true "lost chestnut" or anything but I'd gladly trade it for five of the songs that made the final cut of ABB. If only they would listen to us...

    winner!

Note: "My Brother Esau" was omitted from the LP and CD releases of In the Dark, but was included on the cassette and on international releases, as well as the 2004 reissue.

"My Brother Esau" is also the B side of the both the 7" and 12" singles for "Touch of Grey," but wasn't originally on the album or CD, and that is the question here. I'm glad with time it has been included. It's a much better song than "Tons of Steel," which has always been on the album, although I understand why a tune from Mydland needed to be on the record versus one more from Weir.

Funny story. So there I am vinyl shopping in Leeds with Member Chris M and Simon Robinson.
Simon spies a copy of Powerhouse and whispers to me ‘remember this one?’
‘Of course’, says I, ‘your first release’. ‘You should offer to autograph it’
Simon looked at the price tag of £3 and says ‘no, it would devalue it too much’ :p
