Khruangbin - Christmas Time is Here

Not a new song, of course, but a cool spin on a classic.

Almost forgot this great comp: "In The Christmas Groove":

It's worth it for this track alone:

Was about to post this, but thought I should check to see if someone already did. This one means so much to me. Cheers!

Somebody else posted another great version of this song. One of my favorite hymns. This is a nice version by Kelly Willis & Bruce Robison. It appears on an earlier Christmas EP and a full on fleshed out Christmas album - Happy Holidays.

I really appreciate all the responses, and I hope suggestions will continue to come in.

For instance, for years now, I've appreciated this acoustic album by Vermont guitarist, Ed Gerhard.

Joel Paterson's Hi-Fi Christmas Guitar from 2018 is an outstanding collection of instrumental takes on standards. Very relaxing!

Hey, somebody left the Christmas music thread open...we're gonna be here 'til Easter! Oh well...

This is about 90% as good as Rob Mathes' earlier recording, only found on Rhino
Records 1995 comp Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas )that includes
The Roches, Dr. John and Nicolette Larson...which, in itself, was a little Christmas
miracle). He's a great composer/producer/performer working in the "spiritual
pop" circles. Hearing it the first time literally stunned me. This version is what
you get when you've had a couple decades to re-assess your first performance.

I was shuffling Holiday songs on apple music and a song from this album came up. It inspired me to grab the CD off the shelf and give it a listen... went for it and it wasn't there. Thought to myself, "oh... I must have it on vinyl then", and went to grab it from my collection... and it wasn't there. For all the people in my life who say "Oh, you have every Christmas album ever made", i find it so funny when at least once a season, I realize there is a classic out there that I just don't have yet. Anyway, I ordered the CD on friday and will be keeping my eye out for the vinyl as I'm digging throughout the season.

This is a lovely song from Mindy Smith's overlooked Christmas album, My Holiday.

Haven't heard the Mavericks' album yet. (Been meaning to though.) I really loved Raul Malo's solo Christmas album from a few years earlier...
