I bought a piece of Beethoven's hair a few years ago. Nice conversation piece.

I guess it was common before the days of photography to clip a lock of hair at someone's funeral. They said Beethoven's head was completely bald by the time he was buried.

Look up the book called Beethoven's Hair. The lock from which mine came from was owned by a Doctor stuck in a Nazi controlled country before WWII (I'm not home to look it up right now.) He bribed his way out with the lock and years later it came up on auction at Southeby's (did I spell that right?)

Yeah, I know... It's kinda creepy and wierd.

As a coworker pointed out to me when I showed him the auction, it's no worse a "collectible" than some of the other crap I've spent my money on. ;)

With the considerable amount of $$$ that I'll be charging Jeffrey for shipping him my CD's, I might consider buying this and weaving it into a toupee. It'd be great for those important days when you need to look "presidential".

Wow! Abe Lincoln's hair! Next thing you know, someone's gonna cut up an old Elvis master tape in 2" pieces and sell it!

    Oh.
