We watched the first 3 episodes tonight. Each was very good. Have to pace ourselves to not watch them all too quick.
Watched the first 3 as well... As soon as Marty gets them in a bad situation he seems to find an alternative solution which ends up making things even worse. If I didn't know better, Marty Byrde and Michael Bluth are pretty much the same person! I am wondering if this first minute or so of episode one is actually the end of the series?!?
You may be into something. I wondered about that too. That first scene of episode 1 was somewhat confusing. When they cut to them washing up, we had all sorts of questions like …. They walked away from that? What happened to the kids? Did the story jump back in time? Etc. But those questions are fairly quickly explained with the exception of the relationship in the story timeline with the first scene. I don’t want to say much more since I don’t want to disclose any spoilers for those who may not have watched yet.
About a year ago I used someone's Netflix access and binge-watched almost 3 seasons in a span of about 3 weeks. It was definitely entertaining, but somehow toward the end of the 3rd season, I just lost interest. There was no particular jump-the-shark moment, but I simply didn't have the desire to keep watching.
Watched the first 2 episodes of this season last night and all I can say is this family has no redeeming qualities and I hope they all die at the end. Although Jonah might be worth saving. We’ll see.
I hope it's around the end of this first 7 eps - not the whole series. I don't want the writers to have given away the end of the whole thing.
Whether Jonah is worth saving, we'll see. Right now (middle of ep. 6) he's looking like this otherwise sharp, common sense type of guy has lost all judgment and is acting like a lunatic. So Darlene is better than his parents (because they were involved in the death of his dangerously deranged uncle who punched his father in the face, among other things). This when he know she's assaulted him in the past, has probably killed many, verbally abuses him and threatens him with violence over little things, and is in general very dangerously insane. This is better than his parents? He's having a stupid childish temper tantrum. His sister agrees and has told him he's acting childish. Maybe by the end of the season Darlene will have gone too far and so he's snapped him out of his lunacy!
We watched 2 more episodes tonight … episode 4 and 5. This continues to be a great storyline and season.
Not sure why they felt the need to break up this last season into two subseasons, but 4a was really good. Can't wait to see how this ends. Feels like another Emmy should be coming the way of Julia Garner. She is absolutely fantastic.
I finished season 4 last night. A fun, heck of a ride no matter how preposterous it got. Is it just me or does drug lord Javi seem very similar in style to Better Call Saul’s drug dealer Lalo?
Had a little bit of a chuckle last night when Wendy makes a trip to my old hometown Paducah, KY, especially when they stop by the metal prefab building- McCracken County Morgue (at least they got the name of the county right). They were also accurate when Wendy said she could be there in a couple of hours.
Spoiler Prediction: we have not seen the last of Helen's daughter. I don't think Wendy and Marty survive when it's all said and done. Darlene getting it was nice, and she got it mob style. Just look that, boom. Wyatt was a good example of an intelligent guy who made really bad decisions, and it cost him his life.
