I am hoping that Santa Claus will bring me one of these sets: Paradigm Monitor SE 3000F or 6000F. I like them because they come in white and it would match my furniture. Both have good reviews.

The 6000F series has an extra woofer, but overall the specs seem quite similar. Both models are 3-way, so I am not sure whether the extra woofer helps or it is just a marketing gimmick...

    Any ideas?

Not a marketing gimmick. I would gladly pay the extra $100 per speaker for the extra woofer.

Let's see ......$200 extra.....spread it over 15 years or so, and the cost is about $1.11 per month. Yeah, it's worth it.

I have been listening to Paradigm floor standing speakers since 2003 (Studio 100 V.3's). They still sound great. Nice build, nice sound.

I hope you are happily surprised on Christmas morning. :)

More radiating area to put out bass with less distortion (these are only 5" woofers so the more the merrier ho ho ho). And not much more money. And the speaker taller so the tweeter probably closer to your ears' actual listening height (many towers are not really tall enough for that, and I personally really dislike listening "down" i.e. the sound coming from below the height of my ears).

Having said all that, I'd sure rather have these lovely looking and sounding items in my living room
Wharfedale Reva 4 (Piano Deep Rosewood)
or if the money is absolutely never swingable, the smaller woofer version
Wharfedale Reva 3 (Piano Deep Rosewood)
there are sometimes some nice Polk models on big sale. Speakers last for DECADES and once purchased many folks never seem to upgrade them, so it's worth spending more money if at all possible to move up the quality ladder; price really does make a difference.

It looks just as good in person. And not plasticky gloss like some. :righton:
