    Wasn't the cartridge replaced?

I don’t know, but an elliptical stylus has a lifespan of about 300 to 600 hours, so it needs to be replaced every now and then.

The needle = stylus was renewed, means it is new
And when it only lasts 3-600 hrs, something is VERY wrong, haha
    They last 1000s of hours
I had my Ortofon MC20 from 1982 till 2008 and never needed a replacement
And yeah, that gear got used ...

uhm, you really should check if it’s mounted correctly or if you bearings are worn out
I have never heard that before ... and I am in HiFi more than 40 years

Correct mounted systems last very very long ... mine 26 years, more than 10.000 hts

Well, according to decent sources, my approximation isn't even that low/short, some claim it to be even much shorter.
Soundsmith for example rates the lifespan of elliptical styli at about 250 hours:
    https://www.sound-smith.com/articles/stylus-shape-information

An example of an article that states a longer lifespan for elliptical claims it to be 500 to 1000 hours
The Finish Line for Your Phonograph Stylus… - The Vinyl Press
So that's not anywhere close to 10.000

Seems that Ortofons live longer (yep, I read it)
Secondly I have played it 26 years (then the Diamond fell off, probably due to tropical weather)
The guy who bought the LPs said they were perfect

But okay okay, change every 200 hrs just to be safe :p yaya

Man, the speakers arrived today, is it possible that they accept rca cables? I'm not sure what is supposed to go there, rcas o copper ones?

That would be very unusual. Most speakers need bare wire (old school speaker wire with stripped ends) or something like a banana plug. And if these are passive speakers you need an amp to power them. Post pictures of the back of the speakers so we can see the connectors.

    Banana plugs
In your case use bare wires, loosen the screws in the back and you see holes underneath

Man, if you still would give me some of your wisdom, is there a way to check a vintage TT when it arrives? Plus, what should I check?

Well, I started with 17 as well ;) keep it up, I hope it fascinates you
Which turntable did you buy? Asking because Schlabuckels TT is still available...

You check by connecting it and play your first record!

Didn't buy yet. Schlabuckels is the first choice. Just questioning myself if there was something particular to check. Like stylus weight, alignment, etc

    That will be fine.
The set has RCA cables, will also fit.

you will have to adjust the stylus force, that’s easy
Offer is gone in a few hours ...

Man, may you give me a few tips to setup the TT? I think I'm making disasters... First of all I mistankely once touched the needle, how do I know if it needs replacement? Second, I installed anti skate and put on a tracking force of 1.7 after making the tonearm float. Now the stylus makes a sound which resembles a fork on a dish when it locks in the starting groove, is it horrible? It then gets lifted, I'm panicking a bit, mainly for the stylus... Would you give me some directions?

It's been decades for me and turntables...1.7 seems very high to me. What does your cartridge/stylus call for?
