Pat Metheny Group on Austin City Limits

Jazz guitar legend Pat Metheny and his current band have won an unprecedented seven consecutive Grammys for seven consecutive albums. The band performs songs from its newest album, Speaking of Now.

 

I like his early (ECM) stuff. More recent album on Geffen and WB all seem to sound alike - just more of the same thing.

Zero Tolerance for Silence was a weird album. I don't think many people have it in their collections, or listened to it more than once.

Most of what he did is consistently well recorded though. Some of the ECM CDs sound kind of dull, but the vinyl is OK.
