Unfortunately, Paul has not been very faithful to presenting songs when they were actually recorded - Maybe I'm Amazed from One Hand Clapping on "McCartney", and the 1979 Glasgow tracks too.

I'm actually surprised that Paul is going to FITD before the older '70s albums. I'm not particularly excited about FITD, as I only like a few tracks off it and it's a middle of the road album to me. But maybe the extras will make it more interesting. I'm still in though, whatever order they are reissued in.

This is great news! FITD is probably my favorite McCartney solo album... can't wait!

This wouldn't be great news for me. What I want most from the series are remasters of the 70s albums that are better than the muffled McCartney Collection CDs (and so far they all have been). While I like the album a new Flowers in the Dirt is neither here nor there beyond maybe some interesting bonus stuff -- but the Archive Collection has been a disappointment on that front.

This is one I shall be looking forward to. However most of the bonus material is likely to be the same as on the 1993 CD reissue.

I think it's a good album but they are picking through the catalogue in a strange way. Would like to see London Town before this.

    Same here.

Do you think if by some chance FITD turns out to be a hoax, this thread will carry on regardless anyway?!

The bomb has been released now. There is no way of containing it.

That's what worries me. Particularly since "Off The Ground" might be very low on the priority list (who knows? Maybe I'm wrong) for this series. I'd like them to release the full set now that the opportunity is there.

Someone speculated that Paul may be designating various albums for the deluxe box treatment, and that the remainder will eventually be issued in remastered/expanded form but just as standalone cds. Another thought was that those albums not getting the big box may all just be released in one big batch at some point. While I'd prefer to have a beautifully housed box for each of the albums, in the interest of getting to hear the music sooner than later, I could live with that.

I suppose we're looking at a Spring 16 release for FITD?

If the past is any indication, expect a Fall 2016 release at the earliest.

More likely. Paul likes us to have something in our Christmas stockings.

You're not wrong. But it seems like a very strange approach to marketing.

Was hoping for another flight with Wings next year....... :(

Can't really say anything about Flowers In The Dirt as I know very little if at all about that album. It would've been nice to have completed the 70s journey though before getting so far ahead.

It's definitely not too late to announce such a set. But it wouldn't be consistent with past practices for this series.

Considering the reliance of the “Archive Collection” sets on mostly previously released b-sides and extraneous bonus tracks, and then previously/commonly booted material, the only bummer about a FITD deluxe set is that there’s so much extra material from the album *already* previously released, that the bonus disc is more likely to contain that sort of stuff (alternate Figure of Eight, Flying to my Home, Loveliest Thing, PS Love Me Do, Party Party, etc.) and less likely to come up with a bunch of stuff we’ve never heard or never heard of.

I saw the albums being released with pairs
Wild Life / Red Rose Speedway
London Town / Back To The Egg
Give My Regards To Broad Street / Press To Play
Flowers In The Dirt / Off The Ground
    Flaming Pie / Driving Rain
Chaos and Creation / Memory Almost Full

I guess that plans out the window.
