Currently listening but will be unable to comment at this time, will explain that at later date. Sorry guys, will try as soon as I can...hate this! Got hooked up a little early
You won't have to wait that long but I think everyone though disappointed will understand when I explain
Following up on the Best Buy thing, over at Target, there are several prelistings for Flowers now: 17.99 for the 2CD 35.19 for the Special edition 117.99 for what I presume is the deluxe. Hm!
Any chance that Target 35$ might be the vinyl? I'm really hoping for something really cool(that's not a tote bag)
I guess I'll wait a while after the release date and check which configurations of FITD will be available from different retailers. Waiting worked for TOW and POP, as Barnes & Noble ended up including a 7" single with each 2-LP set.
One tiny bit I will share, disk 2 and 3 fit on one disk with about 11:30 to spare So the three cassette songs may also fit depending on length
Cassette songs - are those additional demos? There's so much material potentially I can't keep it all straight. Maybe someone else can tell so you don't feel pressured to give anything away.
Cassette demos are from the download only material and also McCartney/McManus songs It's ok, we knew this for awhile. If you go to official site has full track listings. Think Amazon as well
I wish you could have just told us whether the 88 band demos, really are just demos, or alternate masters. This is the main thing I want to know. I'll take any info I can get, but the single thing on many people's minds is, are the 88 band demos just demos or more than that.
That's the way it is in Canada. Our last national chain, HMV, just declared bankruptcy and will be shutting all 102 stores by end of March. The only stores left in town are used LP/CD shops that carry new product — not even BestBuy carries music — or the one "oddities" shop that carries top 40, vinyl and t-shirts. Amazon is the only option, really. And they've yet to drop the price on Flowers In The Dirt!!!
Please don't let us be dancing in a figure of eight...after all it's only Rock'n Roll and not state secret
Steve explained this a while ago. The Venus and Mars album master went through an extra dose of compression compared to the "unsmashed" work part tapes, some of which were used for the singles (although one of the singles was a remix and at least one was taken from the album master and faded early). Steve attempted to obtain the lower generation tapes to master the DCC Venus and Mars, but after a lot of back and forth the McCartney camp would not allow him to use them and instead provided him with the usual album master.
And I think we can reasonably guess the approximate lengths of the "Shallow Graves" and "Mistress & Maid" demos based on other performances of the songs. So unless "I Don't Want To Confess" is unexpectedly long, all 3 demos should almost certainly fit. Very curious to learn if the cassette demos also include EC or not (my guess is yes).
