Mine arrived today, looked like an egg too. Unfortunately the inner sleeve had an ugly tear. I contacted costumer support and asked for a replacement. Anyone else experiencing quality problems..? Looks like a GZ press to me.
Could you please share the link address? I see it on amazon.uk, but would prefer to get it from amazon.us if possible...
It was available on amazon.com for at least a couple of weeks, really cheap, too. $6.99 if I'm not mistaken. My wife and I still haven't gotten around to placing our order at amazon.co.uk. I've been miffed at amazon for a couple of pre-orders they've canceled on us on the day of release with no explanation.
Hey Grandude CD version is still available at Amazon.co.uk. I just ordered it. Shipping was more than the CD! Thanks @maccawings for the heads up on this. Didn't I read somewhere that there is some incidental music on this too? This reminds me of the Rupert demo disc, which I love.
I believe it was noted somewhere on the forums [although quite possibly not in this thread] that there was a song called Hey Grandude Theme [or something like that] copyrighted by MPL recently.. I wouldn't expect much from it, though as the whole audiobook is reportedly about 5 minutes long...
I'm in the UK but got mine from the German uDiscover site (UK has sold out at the time) - mine had a 'tear' in the bottom edge of the inner sleeve - looked like the vinyl had just been forced in too hard and too far. I guess I can replace with the inner from a black vinyl copy, as its absolutely identical, but a bit annoying I must admit.
It is. Two results—a $7.00 version that’s 5 minutes long and a $13.08 version that’s an unknown length. Audiobooks matching keywords hey grandude | Audible.com I believe that during the 30 day free trial on Audible, you are allowed a free audiobook download (non-DRM protected, too). I used mine a years ago to download the rerelease of the Diary of Laura Palmer, narrated by Sheryl Lee, to go with my download of the Twin Peaks Archive (I think that was something like 200 tracks for $12.00).
There is a great video on YouTube that synchronizes the Rupert demo music to illustrations of the story.
After getting my vinyl, I was disappointed the coloring of the vinyl wasn't as rich as the photo above would lead you to believe. It's very washed out, as seen in the photo by @apple-richard. Too bad.
Springsteen’s newest had similar issues. The B&N issue was supposed to look like this: But several members here said their copies didn’t have any blue. My copy had one of each:
I have lots of color and splatter vinyl. The last few RSDs have been a treasure trove with some really unique items. Just goes to show that plants are operating at their maximum capacity and quality control has gone in the toilet of late. Even renowned RTI pressings are hit and miss lately.
Finally got round to playing the first disc of the Japanese SHM of WOA. All I can say is wow! Improved bass, detail, stuff I hadn't heard before and I said to the missus while it was on that this is the version I have waited since 1978 for.
