What the... "Pending release, the film is being kept in a high-tech safe behind bulletproof glass that will open automatically on November 18, 2115, the day of the film's premiere." A high-tech safe that will be very old-fashioned for the people then.
Why is all this being discussed in the Archive thread? There is already a proper thread for these discussions. Current Paul McCartney news thread (interviews, articles, miscellaneous)
So, is there hope for an Archive Edition announcement early next year? Would be cool if it's Flaming Pie this time, but I'd take Back To The Egg, too.
This is a High In The Clouds Archive Release. In addition to a lavish reproduction of the book, the bonus features include and entirely never before released film as well as companion soundtrack.
Well Mike C gave us a clue that something could be coming "Paul wise" before Let It Be 50.....but he said "not Archive wise"......that leaves a million possibilities...………
Yup. Paul has teased a "soundcheck" release, guitar concerto, High In The Clouds now... [not counting It's A Wonderful Life..] Edit: probably be more colored vinyl reissues...
Colored Vinyl- Ho Hum...….. He also commented in the past about a Christmas album since he has done Christmas songs for his family the past 50 years...………..
Yeh, that's one I forgot to mention. I doubt that would ever be a spring release, though... more likely a fall/winter.
well, let's look ahead to 2020 (a mixture of fact, rumor and guess) High in the Clouds obviously coming on Netflix/ we know there were songs recorded for a soundtrack so ? there The thing Mike C alluded to which is none of these I'd be surprised if the Cavern show from last year that was filmed doesn't make an appearance Let It be everything that I've heard is May (but I think somebody here mentioned that the original film may have a later in the year release) If true (and I stress IF) archive release early summer Rumors on the board of a George "All Things Must Pass"and "McCartney" anniversary so who knows if they show up we have tours by both Paul and Ringo We know that additional work will be done on "It's A Wonderful Life" to get it ready for 2021 Record Store Day on April 18th (will we get a special release?) passed that, who knows at the moment. But shaping up to possibly be another busy year
It's a Film list... 100 years Film: Across The Universe Jojo Rabbit Film: Komm, gib mir deine Hand Yesterday Film: Several Lennon and McCartney songs Live and Let Die Film: Live and Let Die Vanilla Sky Film: Vanilla Sky
On the one hand, so would I. On the other hand, feels like a worrying precedent for what might follow it if he's potentially starting again with "improved" alternatives to the Archive Collections.
I still say a release of session takes would be the best way to go about it. All new, and not re-selling us what we already had with the Archive.
I really don’t see them working backwards with McCartney. A reissue at the very best if anything at all.
That would be useless, considering the 2017 reissue. But if MPL wants to throw away an opportunity to make some good money...
Well they've thrown away the Christmas market, given that rumours suggest that FP, LT/BTTE are oven ready.
