I walked into a Wendy's a few days ago and to my surprise, Helen Wheels was playing on their sound system.

Here's another story for ya. I was keeping up with my college apps and updating them and registering for online I.D.'s when the college closest to me apparently has a radio station. Well, I saw their most recently played songs and "Who Cares" ws played about three hours before I visited the site. They play lot's of Elvis Costello too, which is great for me. Some stuff off of his "Look Now" album too! It's an alternative rock station.

Let’s hope we’re getting these pesky* Archive Collections out of the way to make way for the super deluxe edition of Egypt Station!

Has your McCartney top 5 or top 10 changed since the release of Egypt Station, Wild Life Archive, or RRS Archive/Double Album?

    My McCartney top 10

    1 Egypt Station
2 Red Rose Speedway Double Album
    3 Ram
    4 New
    5 Band on The Run
    6 Chaos
    7 Tug of War
    8 Venus And Mars
    9 London Town
    10 Back To The Egg

    At this point, mine, are:

    1. Egypt Station/Tug of War (tie)
    2. Memory Almost Full
    3. Chaos (very nearly a tie for no. 2)
    4. Flaming Pie
    5. Band on the Run
    6. Venus and Mars
    7. Run Devil Run

And after that it's kind of a jumble.

Egypt Station sits within this part (10-6) of a full set of McCartney album ranking videos I did a few weeks ago...

I couldn’t even tell you mine, cause I’m not sure where Egypt Station is yet. Now that the new wore off of the crystal chandelier I don’t think it’s still number one for me. NEW or Ram still hold that spot. But if I had to say right now:

    1. Ram/NEW tied
    2. Egypt Station
    3. Electric Arguments
    4. Chaos and Creation
    5. Flaming Pie
    6. Memory Almost Full
    7. Tug Of War
    8. Band On The Run
    9. McCartney II

    6. Venus & Mars
    7. Chaos & Creation
    8. Band On The Run
    9. Driving Rain
    10. Egypt Station

It's good that Egypt Station sneaked into top 10 ( edging MAF out ) as for me everything after MAF had left me underwhelmed until Egypt Station.

    Red Rose Speedway

Love seeing Press to Play in a few of these top 10 lists. It shows who the true fans are here. ;)

**Oops! Editing already. Forgot that Egypt Station exists now. And it probably should be a bit higher on my list but this is just my frame of mind right now.

The super deluxe edition of Egypt Station seems like a very closely guarded secret. It seems like only a myth, or a mystery!

My top 10 a few days after ES came out (by individual songs rating):

1 Chaos And Creation In The Backyard
    2 Egypt Station
    3 RAM
    4 Red Rose Speedway
    5 Off The Ground
    6 Venus And Mars
    7 Band On The Run
    8 New
    9 Flaming Pie
    10 Memory Almost Full

My top 10 right now (also by individual songs rating):
1 Chaos And Creation In The Backyard
    2 RAM
    3 Red Rose Speedway
    4 Egypt Station
    5 Venus And Mars
    6 Tug Of War
    7 Off The Ground
    8 New
    9 Band On The Run
    10 Flaming Pie

But as I said, I made my classement by rating all songs one by one out of 10, it may be not very subjective, but it was the only way to motivate me doing a rank of albums :D
And also, it isn't really meant to be serious, and the appreciation of a song change with the context of the album. For example, I didn't expect Band On The Run to be ranked so high, it's not one of my favorite, but each song I like/love. I can sometimes appreciate Press To Play more than Band On The Run (sacrilege [IMG] ) It's all a question of context.

My top albums go by the ones that have the most songs I like or songs that I like best...

Wings Over America - This will always and forever be my #1 fave McCartney album, I love it live. Wings Over Europe has found a fond place in my heart as well.

Memory Almost Full - Many have a problem with the compression/loudness, not me the songs on this album are so very strong that for me it's just an absolutely joyful listen! One of the best of McCartney's career!

Flaming Pie - Another very high point for McCartney, so many great songs.

Run Devil Run - An absolutely scorching rocker! This album excites me every time I listen, songs like... She Said Yeah, What It Is, Shake A Hand and Party showcase McCartney going back to his hard rocking roots. A thrilling album from one of rocks premiere shouters, I absolutely love it!

Band On The Run - What can be said that hasn't already been said, another one of McCartney's best.

Ram - I love the variety on this album, I like this type experimentation from McCartney.

Venus and Mars - Wings in a groove, Call Me Back Again is the stand out song for me.

Chaos and Creation - Two of McCartney's absolute best songs are on this album, Too Much Rain and This Never Happened Before, didn't agree with the producers overall decisions, but those two songs are home runs.

Flowers In The Dirt - Just has so many songs that I like.

Egypt Station - The songs that are good, are really good, absolutely fantastic from a man in his 70's!

Hearing all this absolutely fantastic music, it kinda makes me sad that over the years, McCartney never performed the vast majority of it?! I can't help but think about what could have been.

Ram has gone down, it used to be in the Top 5. Flowers In The Dirt used to be Top 10 but it’s gone down quite a bit. And Wild Life used to be near the bottom of all of Paul’s albums for me.
