I feel for you, but I have one sealed (in the shrink wrap) until my birthday on 11th September. If the guitar pick is missing so be it, it’s not going back
I've ordered from Amazon UK, they haven't even shipped it yet. I'm a bit annoyed I must admit. I've had it on preorder since June 12.
Amazon's distrubution seems to be quite random at the moment. Some people have received the box prior to release date while others still are waiting. Fingers crossed!
Hmmmm I don't share the same opinion on George's. In my humble view, Paul is "talking to himself" in parts of the song. "I saw you sitting at the center of a circle Everybody Everybody wanted something from you I saw you sitting there I saw you swaying to the rhythm of the music Caught you playing Caught you praying to the voice inside you"
So this concept was similar to the “Coming Up” video? And I’m amazed that this host has 3 (!) autobiographies.
Thanks for the update on the Speed of Sound box. It's still lower than the highest number posted -- 17,913! This is also a shameless plug for everyone to post any other high number boxes here: McCartney Archive Collection - How many copies were made?
"I thought [Jimmy Iovine] was Bono’s roadie. Turns out he’s slightly more important than that." Awesome
A Flaming Delight – Paul McCartney’s “Flaming Pie” is Reissued With a Souped Up Recipe (Part 1 – the 2 CD Set)
Just as we all suspected - he’s been writing, finishing and recording new songs during lockdown! Yeeeeeeessssss!
I've found the picture in a cover of vinyle and really look like a Magritte Henry Brant - Kingdom Come
Collectors Box #1995 present and reporting for duty! Man, this thing is HUGE! Even the outer box is collectible. Can’t throw it away, there’s official McCartney stuff on it.
I don't hear it myself, but I love theories like this and anything is possible...Which lines do you think are pointed at or inspired by George?
One of the fictional Beatles albums I made (for 1973/74 I think), I used the "Son of Man" by Magritte as the cover art. I have to think this piece and others inspired them when it came time to name their label and choose green for the apple. I'm surprised this didn't come up in conversation for the Anthology documentary. All that talk about Apple, and the interviewers didn't ask Paul in particular about the inspiration of the name and the green apple?
Got the 2CD set today and I'm with you.. Would have liked to have the tracklists on the back. I had no sticker with the tracks on mine. Oh well. I always play it all the way through anyway. The only one I don't like is "Really Love You".
It is a Magritte. "'L'Idée Fixe', 1966", the painting is on the back of the disc portfolio. The credits in the books says: "Page 90-91, disc label and disc portfolio René Magritte, L'Idée Fixe / © ADAGP, Paris and DACS, London 2019"
