I've always been interested in this kind of music of Paul's and thought it would be nice to put together a playlist. I'm surprised they worked together so well. It's a nice Sunday morning type listen.

What songs should I add or get rid of?

Paul has always liked to make some songs that are throw backs to the Tin Pan Alley sound of early 20th century. John called these songs "Granny Music," I've always liked them, and have always wanted to collect them, so now I have. I just wanted to see what folks thought and see if they could think of any more I should add. It really is an enjoyable listen for me, and it's about the only way you can make a pretty seamless song collection that spans Paul's whole career.

Listen to What the Man Said and Rocky Raccoon are not granny songs.
Neither are Let ‘Em In and Uncle Albert.
    Among others.

Some people want to fill the world with granny love songs
    And what's wrong with that

While I like Wings' version, I prefer Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble's.

Every song on the list was named as a Granny song by multiple folks or I didn't include it. I wasn't going to include many of these, but they all add to the diversity of the playlist and at least have a nod to music past. Some folks have said to put on Penny Lane. I thought probably not, but I don't know, what do you folks think?

Seems like Ray Davies has written a lot of "granny tunes" as well, but doesn't get as much grief about it. I likes me some granny music. Maybe I'll start a band named, help me out here, "Granny's Favorite"?

Maybe I should add it. It was on a number of lists that I saw in my research.

He's good at these lightweight kind of sing a long songs. I don't know if he is anymore. I guess "Fuh You" was a go at a naughty modern granny song. Times are different. The world are more serious. I don't think "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La Da" with its exuberant joy could have been written now.

You know, I suspect Lennon liked the granny music too, even if, on occasion, he saw fit to slag it off in order to draw a sharper (if more artificial) distinction between himself and his (by-then) former partner.

Whatever the case, regardless of Mr Lennon's taste, I like all of the above. :)

Really no mention of his ultimate cheese song, "Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance"?

Way back when Mc Carney suggested to Lennon that they include ' A Taste of Honey ' in their stage act making the argument that their female fans would love it.
I can't see Lennon particularly liking this song but he agreed to its inclusion in their performances.
Why would he agree? Because he was no fool , that's why.

I'm surprised no one has commented on Two Magpies. I have never seen it on any list of Granny songs, but I hear it as more Granny like than many on the rest of the track list.

Yoko is a granny these days. Would John dislike her music if he were still around?

Uncle Albert is not granny music. Same with Listen To The What The Man Said. Nor is Single Pigeon.

Pretty much Paul's entire Wings catalog would qualify as Granny music... :D

Also, he probably didn't really remember a lot of it, or care one way or the other, after a certain period of time. There's that audio of little Sean singing With a Little Help From My Friends, and John has no idea who originally sang it in The Beatles until Yoko reminds him.
