I have a question for those who know about chart rules. In the UK, sales only count if they're generated by a store that sells music by multiple acts, like Amazon. So McCartney's personal website sales wouldn't count. At least, that used to be the rule...

Generally I agree that things like this are designed to simply juice the chart position.
But, at the end of the day, the people on the board at Capitol Records look at balance sheets and not just the Billboard charts.
They have three weeks to sell something that in three weeks will be less valuable. This is what businesses do.
Topping the charts feels and looks great - but given the choice of topping the chart and selling more things, I'm pretty
sure that selling more things is of greater value to the record company.

Still they want to keep McCartney (and presumably all of their artists) happy.

Not sure at this point. Would make sense to include it but then no real difference between Deluxe

Sounds fine to me, still pretty loud but less so, and not as "busy". But I don't have the equipment (nor the knowledge) to give you a reliable answer…
Completely wrong… If you take into account Paul's albums of the last 25 years, I'd say Chaos is probably the furthest away from McCartney III… There was a solemnity and "masterpiece attitude" in Chaos that is the polar opposite to what he's aiming at in McCartney III, which is to give himself free reign to go all over the place. And he does !
Thank you for saying that. Myself, I’m immensely frustrated by the reviews Paul usually gets in the rock press… When I was a kid in the 80's, he was just panned every time. Then he started getting almost exclusively those tepid flippant reviews that never seem to be written by knowledgeable (or simply interested !) writers. I don't get it. I mean, every Dylan record will get in-depth reviews written by super-specialists, assuming the readers will be versed enough in all things Dylan to “get it”. Same with Springsteen, Nick Cave, same with people like Bowie and Cohen when they were still with us. Of course these artists more than deserve it but… why not McCartney ? For his part, he is only getting the usual Abbey Road/Rubber Soul references and maybe some Band on the Run or McCartney, if we’re lucky. Is there really no real serious McCartney fans among the professional rock critics ? Very rarely do we get a sense of the writer following his career with the scrutiny an artist of his dimension and historical importance should warrant. Very rarely (if ever) do we get something interesting for us fans to read… The Uncut review is a case in point, it’s ok, but it doesn’t go beyond the basic PR requirements. And even though they give it 9/10, the LP's not even featured in their “records of the year” list, published in the same issue (I think the only times Paul made Uncut's Top 100 was Electric Arguments in 2008). Really, really frustrating…

Paul McCartney's site is just a sub-site of the Universal Music Group's store which sells all their various artists

For everyone wondering, we now have 4 CD variations now plus the "standard CD".

Seems like the full album with a bonus track tacked on at the end as track #12?

That leaves us with 6 artwork variations:
    - Standard white dice
    - Target green dice
    - Red dice
    - Blue dice
    - Yellow dice
    - 333 yellow dice

    Am I missing any?

My understanding was that Paul’s official shop orders were filled by UDiscover/Universal . If so, they represent many artists and would satisfy that rule. No sure if I am right

    One question...

If these new bonus tracks are called "demos", I guess they differ in production, engineering and overall sound to the tracks in the album, right?
Maybe Paul just didn't feel like working on these demos anymore and they release them as he left them?

So 6 CD variations and 10 vinyl???

And is it each color CD has one exclusive bonus track tacked on at the end of the album?

Bought all four “secret” cd editions. Nice price.

  19. Thanks for explaining, now me objections are even more informed.

I don’t mind the usual boxes and bonus editions that usually come out after the release - as it subsidizes the streaming availability, but this........

Paul sure likes loud, punchy drums.

Okay - wait - what's the difference between a "Deluxe CD" and a "Secret Demo CD"?

It looks like it's the sleeve? So - for an extra $7 you get a digipack instead of a slipcover?

    Cheers,
    Paul

My guess is demos/home recordings of four songs from the album.
