Paul McCartney : Ram (Album) Song by Song Thread

I heard a version of this story as well where for a time McCartney tried to teach Linda how to play piano at a higher level than she was capable of. From what I remember eventually he just gave up and brought somebody in to work with her to improve her skills.

 

I found RAM in the bargain bin at Kmart in 1982 on cassette. I bought it and loved it then I read how "awful" it was in a couple of Beatles books and a Rolling Stone review which pretty much said it was the death of sixties music.
I knew the first time I heard it that it was wonderful. To this day I don't know why it wasn't realized at the time it was released.

 

It did get a very positive review in Circus magazine which was a good read in those days.
