I love Paul McCartney's work as a solo artist (and including Wings here too). I have collected his work since I was a young boy in the early 80's. I have many copies of his main albums, for example. Nevertheless I am not one to go in for collecting every single recording (I'm just not that type of fan) although that is no slight on those who have collected the massive Archive box sets for example.
A deep cut (rare) can mean different things to different people based on relative knowledge of the artist and degrees of fandom. For the sake of this thread a deep cut can mean any track that is off the well beaten path. Normally that means tracks not on the regular, studio albums but might include different versions of those tracks.
I'm curious whether there perhaps is more McCartney that I should explore.
Artistic merit (again, a vague subjective term) is the keynote to this thread. Part of me wonders whether there are some gems still left to hear but also I thought it a good place to select those tracks worth seeking out amidst a now large solo catalogue. I hope this thread to be helpful to others too who might know a lot of what Paul has done but by no means have a fully comprehensive catalogue of his work.
I thank posters in advance for their precious time in contributing :)

An early 2000s animation project, possibly to be reprised at some point in the future.

I think when it comes to deep cuts so to speak, subjectivity plays more of an even larger role than ever, because these are the bits that have rarely been praised by others, and the discovery of a relatively rare gem for oneself can be a rather personal experience.

That being said, I'm a big fan of a few numbers that were recorded but not released (yet) back around the time of Red Rose Speedway, like this sublime and mellow cover song arrangement:

Basically, once you get into the CD single era, you have some rarities out there, in the sense that (a) they were officially released but (b) they don't (yet) appear on official album re-issues. A visit to youtube discovers that fact that Flaming Pie-era b-sides have been removed, for reasons we might speculate about (notably: a forthcoming large re-issue of Flaming Pie material).

Thanks Rob. I've played this a couple of times sat out in my garden this evening. First time I've heard this track so a great example to start the thread with. :)

There are so many of these deep cuts, often they are superior to the tracks we all know.
Paul's demo of 4th of July left me stunned when I finally heard it.
