Yes. Per the album cover notes: "Paul laid down the basic tracks, overdubbing each instrument himself. Denny and Linda added a few licks..."

I still have my original 1977 copy. Haven't played it in a while. It's a pleasant listen but I'd been expecting it to rock more.

Don't Let It Bring You Down is an odd one for me. I know some people really love it, and I understand why in a sense. But it's just never done anything for me. I don't dislike it, I'm just kind of indifferent to it.

Famous Groupies - I love this song, ridiculous as it may be. "Ladies and Gentlemen, those magnificent examples of female pulchritude and luminosity, direct from their global perambulations to the very boards of this supremely magnificent proscenium arch" might be the best example of someone consulting a thesaurus while writing song lyrics.

Deliver Your Children - Another great contribution from Denny Laine. His songwriting on London Town (and Back To The Egg) was very good.

Name and Address - A cool Elvis pastiche that's another song to add to the "proof Paul can write in (almost) any style" pile.

Don't Let It Bring You Down - It's a good song but I don't get why some people seem to love it so much.

Morse Moose and the Grey Goose - I love this song. Sea shanties plus rock.

Are we kicking the Fair Carol into high gear now...?

    Deliver Your Children:
Top-notch Danny song and this was the one getting the airplay from the I’ve Had Enough/Deliver...-single in Holland, a medium-sized hit that arguably should’ve made it onto either Wings’ Greatest or Wingspan at least. I think it’s gorgeous. It really hits the mark for me.

    Name And Address:
Love this tune as well, although it sounds a bit thin.
It’s kinda like an enjoyable throwaway Elvis pastiche and in it’s own way it totally fits the album’s mood.
I gotta agree with Bsync here in that if it were recorded for BTTE the guitar sound would’ve been upfront and the sound more aggressive.

Don’t Let It Bring You Down:
The one deep cut Paul thought enough of to include it on Pure McCartney and it’s not hard to see why.
This is definitely an album highlight, a dark, moody piece that sneaks it’s way into your system. I also think it’s soothing, so you’ll get the best of both worlds.

Morse Moose And The Grey Goose:
It’s kinda reminiscent of 1985. I like it well enough and think it belongs on the album, but it’s a bit long in the tooth. That said, I love the synths and the vocal performances. It’s almost as if Jack Sparrow is overtaking the Fair Carol to battle Davy Jones!

So we’ve spent ages with the turgid Speed Of Sound and zip through my highly beloved London Town... ;). Anyway, have a great holiday, Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year, Bemagnus!

I was thinking about that myself, with the live Go Now as a fun bonus track.
I Would Only Smile DEFINITELY should make the cut this time round!

We could discuss the various live releases or compilations, the virtues of the cd campains his material has seen, the Danny ‘compilation’ as Bsync mentioned. Also top 10’s and such. Enough to talk about!

Thought I'd go back during our break and post some ephemera for the prior albums.

We'll start with RAM to go a bit out of order . . .

Like this Lennon dig at ' Ram '. Maybe a tad childish but it is funny.

As a newcomer to this forum I am late to this thread unfortunately. Not going to backtrack, but will add my tuppence-worth on With A Little Luck below. Roll on BTTE in the new year...
Agree 100%. I was giving Pure McCartney a spin on Spotify recently, and was so disappointed when I realised it was the edited version. The instrumental section is a sublime, with synths so lush it feels like you are swimming in them. A McCartney classic, from an album I revisit often.

This thread is dying on the vine.
I like omikron' s suggested topic for discussion.
Pick a song that defines Wings.
It can' t be ' My Love ' cause that ' s so obviously Paul. And so many others are so him as well. It can' t be a Denny song and certainly not one of Linda ' s efforts. Has to be a true group thing.
I'm going to go with : ' Hi Hi Hi '--- a chunky rocker with a real group feel to it.
