I have an excellent quality bootleg dvd of this that I found in a 2nd hand record store ONCE.

No way it's official - at best it's "Gray market".

I don't have it on me at the moment to provide details, but the logo was, I think, from Rounder Records or something like that.

So, is this the actual official release? Anyone else have the film?

For one of those "artsy fartsy" mixed-footage-from-10-different-shows kind of videos I actually find it very enjoyable (and I abhor this kind of stuff! :D )

It's one of my favorite pieces in my Macca collection.

Anyone have this or have thoughts on it?

  2. If I remember correctly he had a TV broadcast that year on a major network. Is it that?

The TV special featured the live show from Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 15, 1993. It was only shown on TV and not officially released for sale:
Paul McCartney Live in the New World (1993) - IMDb

Then, a film called Paul Is Live: In Concert On The New World Tour was released, which contained some footage from Charlotte as well as a number of other concerts. I think that this was available on VHS and Laserdisc.

Yes, "Paul Is Live: In Concert On The New World Tour" is the one.

Can anyone point me towards a legit copy of it (not to buy, but to look at online) - I can't find one. Google isn't helping me :p

Anyone seen it or have opinions on the film?

I'm guessing what I've got is a very good bootleg.

I mean, it definitely has the bootleg vibe about it in regards to menu and everything, but the quality is very professional and if you gave it to a random person they wouldn't think twice about it.

For some reason that still feels "weird" to me. I mean, "Get Back" - you can tell the official version. This one still has that Gray Market vibe about it and I've never seen this version in stores. I know it says Region 1, but was this specific release perhaps a UK only thing or something? I know across the pond it's all PAL but...

If only someone had this version adn could chime in :p

I have it and I bought it at Best Buy. I thought it seemed more legit than the McCartney Live Get Back DVD I have.

Me too. The dvd version I would’ve got upon release. And yes, the old vhs one matches the earlier linked image, too.

I have never seen any ads or promotion for this dvd release - it seems like it was just "thrown out there". I remember I tried to buy the dvd officially from the Macca website and I couldn't (this was around 2010 probably).

It has the MPL logo on the packaging and the MPL ident when the disc plays. It’s official, 100%. A grey market release couldn’t carry all the MPL stuff. McCartney’s lawyers would be on it immediately.
