Well said. It's a goofy, lightweight song for a goofy, lightweight movie. It served its purpose, hit the spot, and slid into obscurity.
This was BY FAR the best setlist I got to see him play. I can be sad for you if you like because I don't care. I got to see him play these and they were amazing!
Oh, you don’t need to be too sad for me for missing this tour. I saw Paul with the Beatles and also with Wings, and George in 1974. Did you ?
Yes, I heard it during two different tours as well, the 2015 debut leg in the UK and then randomly in Australia in December 2017. But I had to keep the summary a bit more globally. 'Venus And Mars / Rock Show' for example were done 3 times in 2012 (coincidentally 2 shows I was at) after being scrapped the tour before. Actually, I now realise 'Temporary' was done a bit more in 2017 than I thought, probably replacing 'Save Us' or 'Junior's Farm' at the time or something. Make that 2015+2017, still in the same category, barely played in total. Yeah, the "3 songs from the current album, forgotten about next tour cycle" moves.
To be fair to Flowers, half of the album was played on the 89/90 tour. And while the songs were forgotten before the next world tour, "My Brave Face" stuck through the Unplugged tour of '91. And after that in '93, half of Off The Ground was played! He should've stuck to this pattern, rather than just three or four songs from there on.
I’ve probably wrote this ten times before - but the timing to write it again seems good: Paul, besides performing the songs as outlined on the last two pages - even if you ONLY do the Beatle ones. - please release on CD / digital All the songs you HAVE already recorded that are NOT on a CD. I don’t care if some are on a VCR tape , or a DVD or were on a TV show in (some countries ) that might be on YouTube LOL. Do It Now! OK, I’m good for a year, now.

It was actually six songs from the current album (Flowers). You are right they were gone from the New World Tour. But remember, none of the new Venus and Mars or Speed of Sound songs from 76 tour survived to the next tour in 79. He's been doing this for decades.
The “band” is “TMC Movie Stars”. Looks like their 70s movie album is on Spotify, but the 80s album didn’t make it. No luck on YouTube.
Thank you! I will try and find it somewhere online; I am always intrigued to hear covers of less expected solo Beatles songs, even if they aren't any good.
I wish Paul would open Freshen Up with a full version of Hunt You Down, and close with an extended jam of C-Link. I'd probably be the only one excited about that, though....
That would be fantastic; out of all the songs on 'Egypt Station', I most wanted him to perform that medley live. I also thought that he should have at least performed 'Despite Repeated Warnings' on something like 'Earth Day'. I can imagine both of those songs working really well live.
Someone covered Spies Like Us? I remember back in 'the day' (i.e, the late 1980s) going on holiday to Spain and a friend of mine buying a compilation tape with a Prince track on it. It turned out to all be cover versions and the Prince track - Batdance - was hilarious! All the talking was in a European accent and it was all so very, very wrong. So I suppose back then all hits were covered at some point by someone to produce soundalike compilations for somewhere in the world. I'll have to get him to dig out that tape as I'd love to hear it again.
That really was a fantastic vocal performance from Paul and the rest of the group, pretty much as perfect as I could ever have hoped that song would sound live, let alone so many years after it was recorded.
Sadly my Alexa only gave me the movie. When I said play the song, it played the version from my library... I can be a pretty harsh critic of Sir Thumbs Aloft, but I don’t see it as any worse than some of his dorky 70s single choices (C Moon, Helen Wheels). And, apropos of nothing, I was behind a car the other day with a vanity license plate of ELLE7 - I felt I should share that here.
It must be an “Unlimited” thing because “Spies” is in my library as well but Alexa served up the knockoff for me. You should have told Elle7 that she is like Squaresville.
