  1. It does not work for credit/debit card funded purchases. It's for instant transfer only. :sigh:

Where does it say that? I just perused the Terms & Conditions and I can't find mention of that anywhere...

Well, the terms and conditions state that a paypal member is eligible for this $15.00 rebate only if he received an invitation by email, so, if you didn't get that email and registered via the link provided here, it's possible that you won't see the rebate anyway. Pretty crummy way to do business, I guess. Perhaps the only ones to receive that invitation were those that don't use the service very often. I know that I didn't get one.

Well, ebay/paypal isn't known for their ethics. If I attempt to use the offer it will only be for something that I'd be buying anyway. I won't buy something with the idea that I'll be getting a $15 rebate.

Some of us who replied to the offer via this thread were able to register and others were not. Wonder what that means?

I emailed paypal and this is what they said:

look further in to your account and I do apologize for the delay in your
service request and for any inconvenience you may have experienced. Well, I

    tab

From what I can tell, "open enrollment" was available from around the time of my original post (or before) until around 2/15. After that, the only way you could sign up is with an email directly from Paypal.

  7. I have been a PayPal member for a long time, and the link indicates I don't qualify and I didn't receive an email promoting the rebate. I have written PayPal requesting participation in the promotion. I have not been happy with PayPal either as buyer or seller but it appears doing business on eBay makes it almost required now. Purchases through PayPal haven't been delivered and trying to file a claim fruitless on a couple of occasions for me. I have no problem with eBay, other than I believe the service should do a better job of preventing and removing bootlegs.

Bootlegs are everywhere. I have even bought them off the shelf at Borders. I recently ordered a CD from an Amazon seller and received a CD-R counterfeit of a commercially-released disc.

  9. Good point and I hope Amazon and Borders saw to it you got a refund?

I got a refund from Amazon, but I actually wanted the bootleg I bought at Borders. It was the Buddy Holly The Buddy I Knew 7-CD box set, which probably got into the store via Phantom imports.

  11. I received the same message too :(

Too bad Amazon doesn't take Paypal.

Can't find anything I want at CD Universe or Tower.

Well, actually I did put in an order at Tower for about $45, but only 1 item was shippable as it turned out so then I didn't have the $30 minimum.

Try buy.com...they usually have a good selection. If you like the blues, you should consider the Fleetwood Mac Blue Horizon boxset.

I read the original post around that time and was eligible, so it appears you are right because I didn't get the email either.

Not sure who "qualifies" for this offer. PayPal collected over $1100 from me in fees last year alone, yet I don't qualify. Crap like this drives me crazy. Like when your satellite TV provider is offering HD + DVR packages for free to new subscribers but existing customers have to pay twice retail. :realmad:

I have not seen the $15 yet but I believe that all of my purchases via paypal have been under $30. All together I've spent much more than 30 but so far not one single one over $30 I am not sure if you have to spend the $30 total or at one time.

You have to have at least one purchase over $30.

This coupon is by invitation only. The link told me I am not eligible since I have not received the email.

Well I just went ahead and placed an order for $30 and some small change at CD Universe. I'll see if I get a $15 rebate. I used a bank account instead of a credit card just to be extra safe since someone posted above you can't use credit cards for the offer, although I could find nothing in the rules about it.

I never receive these e-mail coupons, and I use PayPal constantly. They probably figure I don't need the coupons because I can't stay from PayPal as it is.
