You know I'm not going to like em Dave, 'know that whole 'modern compression' thing.. Unfortunately i've never been let down when it comes to DR values. (on remasters) I really wish it didn't bother me. Sucks
I'm wondering if they're planning a box set that would have everything — I had thought that was part of the plan, but I imagine the way these reissues have rolled out people who already bought some or all of them would be annoyed. Perhaps there would be an option to buy the box (and whatever extra extras it contained) separately?
A nice empty display box would be welcome to house them all in. @morgan1098 would probably need a couple of em
The idea has been dropped ! On one of the Q & A recently on You Tube, they explained that the box set idea should have been announced at the same time of the reissues so that folks could decide to buy the whole lot in a nice box or separately.
A singles box is still a possibility. That *will* be enormous, whether CD or vinyl. But I can't promise I won't buy it... (Of course, this is still the finest PSB - or anyone really - box that exists):
The Yes Limited edition from the Vinyl Factory records site was my mine once, sold in when I was very short of money, still regret doing that today What was I thinking
That is a very cool looking boxset, and records. It's too bad that the album wasn't very good though. It's much better as an art piece. Too much filler on the album, and them trying too hard to bring back their electronic sound. later -1
No kidding. Biggest problem is the rights on the commissioned remixes, vinyl/promo only stuff which will probably never get cleared. Luckily most of the commercial singles can still be had inexpensively with patience
Don't we all own the singles in one form or other. What I'd really like would be all the odd remixes, versions, b-sides &cet that were only available for 10 minutes in 25 years ago in some obscure format. Of course that would also be huge. I like the "Yes" vinyls. But seriously I'd never consider buying it at the price they asked. It's a collector's item, not something you would actually play. And for that I wouldn't really want to invest that much.
A thought out singles box similar to Depeche Mode's DMBX 1- 6 or Erasure EBX 1- 4 would be phenomenal and long overdue. Paying attention to obscure mixes and unreleased mixes as well!
Those sets are so gorgeous! I regret not buying the Yes set especially since I fell in love with that album. I did buy Duran Duran's All You Need Is Now set from Vinyl Factory and it's beautiful as well but those PSB sets definitely turned things up to eleven.
I wish I hadn't seen those pictures! Sometimes ignorance is bliss. I dont care much for Electric, but I love Yes.
