Fallon is the worst interviewer and very annoying, but that video was fun.

I don't see how anyone would be too upset even if they didn't like it.

The Who (and the Roots) are fine, anybody and everybody other than Jimmy Fallon is always good. Can't believe that guy has lasted as a host/entertainer.

I’m in the camp of “Fallon has gotten beyond irritating, but that was fun”.

  4. Uhmm, how has no one mentioned how amazing THE ROOTS are?

I thought it was fun. I can think of worse things an artist could do. As I always say, they’ve earned the right to do whatever they damn well please-just like the Stones. What are they supposed to do at that age that would make the OP happy? Not enjoy themselves? Stay away from toy instruments?

99% of Who threads come down to "I don't like their current incarnation so they need to quit".

    Narcissism to an extreme!

Loved it. As I said to my son, you can do just about anything with a great song. :) Put another way, not even Fallon can ruin a great song. -E

    Did you ever see this?

It's the first time I saw Corden and/or "Carpool Karaoke" and I loved it!

Less wild about Corden and/or "CK" now, but the "Red Nose Day" bit is awesome! :)

I think it's very well done and entertaining. Actually all that percussion makes it sounds like one of Pete's demos from '65 or '66 :)

that was actually awesome. I don't think they could have done it with Dreaming From The Waist though...

I don't watch enough Fallon to know if he's more irritating than in the past, but I also thought the Who bit was enjoyable.

And even on toy instruments, "WGFA" still rocks! :pineapple:

This weird faux anger at older artists still making a living and enjoying themselves. I don’t get it. I shudder to see how these people live their lives when they reach the same age as the artists they disdain.

Are they the same age and jealous? Younger and dismissive of the “dinosaurs”?

They don’t make money from that. The payment is the publicity.

I probably would have been more offended if they turned down the opportunity. Like others said, it shows they don’t take themselves too seriously. Not much of a fan of Fallon OR The Who, but I thought the video was fun.

Of course the OP throws out his scorn, and doesn't participate in his own thread.
    Typical.

  20. Please explain exactly how these, life long, performers are supposed to act if this is disapproving in your eyes?

I see this as a bunch of guys just screwing around.
Sometimes doing something just for the heck of it is the best reason to do something.

In the end they did something because they wanted to, rather than doing nothing for fear of being judged harshly.

No, he came in and sulked that everyone else liked it several times. It must have been embarrassing.

What does emptying bedpans have to do with writing incisive and witty Internet comments? I don’t see the connection…

Au contraire. Perseverance in the face of adversity, that’s bravery, even heroism!
