I almost forgot about you. Come over to the Avalon thread. No multi mix nonsense by Bryan Ferry. One sound mix = classic album.

Yes Peter’s approach to I/o is definitely motivated by money. :p

It's really a ridiculous notion in this streaming era. Given all of the expenses involved with the extended sessions and production, I'd wager he's likely to lose money on this release--touring is where the big money is at for PG now--so you certainly can't accuse him of being greedy here.

Not a fan of Ferry so I won't burden those who like him with my opinions. Imagine that, keeping my negative opinions to myself.

I do expected the more than one mix on CD, more than one mix on vinyl, maybe 45 RPM vinyl, maybe cassette(s), maybe color vinyl variations, then some surround and/or video physical release(s) of the studio album.

This thread will eat it up and compare sound quality. Others will pick 1-2 versions.

It’s been confirmed by PG for album release before the end of the year. Quite when is speculation. But releasing one track every full moon remains his intention too. It could continue after the album is out. That isn’t clear yet either.

I am usually onboard with most of your posts on this site, but I think you're totally off the mark, on this subject.

Oh, I’ll bet he does songs we haven’t heard live. He does that on most tours anyway - the embryonic version of Playing For Time was the opening song on some dates of the So anniversary tour, he did Baby Man and a vocal version of White Ashes on the Still Growing Up tour and early dates of the Secret World tour featured Lovetown before it was released.

Ok, I was just having some fun. My pre-order is in for the light or bright, or whatever it is, CD. (Even if Peter has flipped his lid. ;))

The Dark Side mix of the title track came out last Friday:

Just as a reminder, the next song releases in eight days.

Could he be doing a Lorde “Solar Power” type arrangement, ie no physical cd release of the new album?

  16. No.The demographics of Peter Gabriel’s audience is completely different.

    I hope not.

I don't think so, but considering he hasn't even announced the album yet, his current release strategy is no indication of how the album will come out.

Between this and Depeche Mode remixes finally surfacing, this is going to be a great new release Friday!
