Taking a break this week from Phish.

Kate Bush, Queen, the Stones and Marillion have been on my mind.

Looking very much forward to resuming 2010 - probably tomorrow - with 8/17 Jones Beach

    Peace out guys :)

I was going to put a similar joke when sobriety was brought up but I was afraid to offend people.

"What's the worst thing about seeing phish sober?"

Me too! Discovered her literally about 5 days ago thanks to @Rne and I can't stop listening to her stuff. It's fantastic.

Have you seen any of her videos? They are pretty insane too - just avoid the video for "Experiment IV" unless you like creepy songs about music that kill someone and zombie demon monsters popping out of nowhere. Scared the crap out of me! :p

Addicted to the videos as well yes ha! My favorite is "babooshka". There's some comp where the cover is a still from that video where she's holding a samurai sword. So crucial!

Good lord that song is incredibly catchy and unique - talk about an earworm! And that video...well, let's just say I like the visuals :D

After taking a break for a week or so, I resume 2010 with 8/17 as promised :)

Incredible - for my taste - setlist tonight.

Great omen to have a sick Fluffhead opener, no?

So far the show is living up to my expectations.

Fluffhead was performed basically flawlessly and was loaded with energy - this is definitely the version of the summer!
KDF was surprisingly ordinary and not ripping despite still being hot over all - at this point the could either go south or head for the sky!
Cities - the sky they chose with this funky beast. This seemed a tad slower and "heavier" than usual in a dark, Carini kind of way. Awesome.
Funky B - RIPPED. Does it ever not?!
Wilson - direct segue from Funky B. It's Wilson, it rocks, 'nuff said.

    :)

Staying in ‘92 with 4/21/92 Eureka, CA. Phish.net has this as the top rated show of ‘92 by a hair. I’m only one set in, and definitely digging it, but 3/20 and 4/16 were really good...

Show 29 of 2010. Last of this fantastic summer tour. Only 20 more shows to go (if you count 1/1/11 as part of 2010 as I do)

    8/18/10 Jones Beach

A smashing-if-short Disease opener get us off to a great start and gets our heads banging right out of the gate.

If this show is anywhere as good as the previous one (effing incredible!) I'm in for a good listen - and look at the setlist! They pulled it off again!

Here's my awful and pointless notes regarding summer 2010. They get more useless as the shows went on because 22 of the 29 gigs I consider "must hear"/"you can't go wrong with this" shows (if you're reaching for some 2010, that is). This summer 2010 run blew-my-mind. Just INSANE energy throughout. Incredible stuff. It started hot and then just got hotter and hotter and HOTTER AND HOTTER AND HOTTER!!!!!! To the point where I kept thinking "surely they've peaked" and then NOPE! Along comes yet ANOTHER banger!!! :bigeek::bigeek::bigeek:

Now that you’ve gotten somewhat caught up on Phish, it might be time to do a quick Phil & Friends detour for the shows he did with Page and Trey in April of 99 if you haven’t already. It should be a deluxe box set, but the Charlie Miller soundboards on the archive are great. You know you want a Terrapin>DWD>Dark Star in your life. (4/17/99)

I totally forgot about those. I used to have them on CD in my college days but completely forgot about those shows, probably haven't heard them in 15+ years. Never thought to check archive.org for the SBD's for my digital collection. Gonna do that today.

Wonder whatever happened to that official release project. Phil was quoted sometime shortly after the shows indicating that he would release every note from all 3 nights. Agree that the CM soundboards are great and would suggest that they serve well enough that an official release is largely unnecessary.
