Seems like in the ‘70s everyone was wearing them onstage (and in the audience). Probably due to the emergence of county rock. By the time the 80s rolled around, the fashion trends changed. However the photos remain. Who can you post pictures of wearing overalls?!?!

Overalls are also known as bib and brace overalls ( protective clothing) during working. ... Coveralls are an extended version of overalls, used in work environments where more care is needed. It looks like a jumpsuit but has the less tight fitting.

 

Like an engine driver you might say.
