Even more amazing is how little action this thread is getting here on the forum!

Just spoke to my local record shop owner and that's exactly what it is.

Apparently 300 pressed - 220 went to UK HMV with the remaining to indie shops. No pre publicity allowed or banned from next RSD.

    Oh, and I didn't get one ....

This is great news, since I can't imagine them doing anything remotely interesting if not for a Copyright law.

This has a few more titles than I thought it would, too!

    A1 Lucy Leave (Barrett)
    A2 Double O Bo (Barrett)
    A3 Remember Me (Barrett)

B1 Walk With Me Sydney (Waters)
    B2 Butterfly (Barrett)
    B3 I'm A King Bee (Slim Harpo)

Well. I stand corrected then. Happily, since I just blagged a copy on eBay.

So does this mean in 2017 they have to release a version of Vegetable man/Scream thy last scream or some person can release them as public domain?

Yep. Use it or lose it.

I'm typically a secret anarchist, but I find myself singing the praises of this law.

Yes, but that person would need the tapes to begin with. If they remain in the vault, they won't be copyright protected if they are ever released. The tracks already circulate in (presumably) the best quality available outside of the vault. It's not like the owner of the tapes will be forcibly compelled to put them out.

I popped into HMV's flagship store on the way home from work, and they had nothing about it in their database. However they did say that it could be an oversight- they definitely didn't have a copy in store though.

I called my usual indie place -- they knew nothing about this. Any copies make it to the US?

Wow. Sneaky. Well, whatever gets the stuff out there.

Hmm. Hopefully Parlophone puts this out as a standard vinyl release. Why create a false shortage? Also, maybe this is the first trickle of new vinyl that will signal the reissue of the full catalogue on vinyl.

As far as I know, half of the titles are totally new. Can't wait to hear this.

Wish I could own the vinyl, that's a classy, simple cover.

I've heard King Bee and Lucy in the same manner that everyone else has, but the rest is a mystery to me. Can barely contain my excitement right now!

So in a couple/ few years if this use it or lose it trend follows the coveted BBC recordings would also be up for release .I only hope some care has been put into the sound of this 1965 thing, and whatever else follows.

    From Andy Jackson:

"Ok, I haven't said anything if anyone asks. This particular release is just what I said. However, the contract with EMI is now expiring, so they get the rights to all their recordings back. On that basis, there will be a 'filling in of the gaps' of some of the earlier stuff. Really can't go into details except to say that I'm just starting on this, doing some restoration. Look forward (if you like this sort of thing) to late 2016."

Just went to my local HMV in Essex. It was in the system for £25.99 but none arrived and they couldn't order any in. The guy said it probably went to the bigger stores or just London.
