One argument for not including these liner notes is that they are poorly written. Another is that they were obviously either written or dictated to the writer by Roger.

 

I like Roger, wears his heart on his sleeve. I like David too but he has always come across as passive aggressive to me.

 

I’m hoping there’s also a CD/Blu-Ray combo option, like “Amused to Death”.

 

Yeah thankfully we have the Extraction tapes and they sound halfway decent.

 

After 3 years and 129 pages, we finally have positive movement!

 

Ugh. Wish I'd never read ANY of that stuff. Just put the album for sale please.

I have been waiting .. not quite so patiently... now I just have to make sure my anticipation levels don't get too high

 

I half expected those sleeve notes to slip in to first person nearer the end

 

Wonder if this means there's no The Middle Years PF box coming in the foreseeable future.

 

Doing a 5.1 mix of Animals is a great idea.
But why did they gave the album a new stero mix ?
The 1977 mix is the one we all love since the release of the album and thru the years.
It is great as it is.

The video clip and just the fact its been a back and forth cause of linear notes. How f’in childish really.

Yeah it's annoying. Animals is hands down my fave PF. But, I played my OG The Wall vs the last Remaster last night. The OG is massively better. The remaster is ultra bright and is compressed to death. Doesn't give me a good feeling about this batch. But, I'm a sucker and buy it anyhow.

 

No love lost between Roger and David.. Can’t wait for the release. Hopefully there’s an SACD.

 

Curious for a new mix of Animals, but sad with no outtakes, live tour, and dvd and blu ray with the same thing is non sense (like the Sgt Pepper´s box, thanks they just put blu ray in the other boxes).

 

The original 1977 Stereo Mix will be made available in High Resolution on the BluRay & DVD as was done for 1973 Stereo Mix of TDSOTM Immersion and the 1975 Stereo Mix of WYWH Immersion.

 

Wonder if he had approval to leak this information or if Gilmour and team are now scurrying around trying to get in front of this somehow.

 

But, but maybe there will be MARBLES!

 

I try not to pick sides in the great Roger and David debates. However, in this case, I can absolutely see why Gilmour did not want these included. The whole think is a Roger ego-stroke fest...it’s insane that he even tried having these included in the first place. Plus, they are not very well written to begin with.
Of course, Roger was a driving force in the development and theme of the album, but it’s the music combined with the words that make this album so great...so many excellent instrumental passages. If they were to include liner notes the whole band should have been involved with there experience in its creation. It’s a shame that is what caused the almost 3 year delay.

 

Seems like standard operational procedure for Floyd at this point.

 

Go figure. David was the ******* holding this up for three years over liner notes. Lol. Not about the quality of them, just if there should be any. Wow. SMH. Glad to finally see this.

 

So they're calling it the 2018 mix even though it'll be released this year? That's something I haven't seen too often...
