This release was never officially announced, only leaked.

Ok, leaked. It still doesn't excuse something that has been ready for years to be so put off. It was leaked by Roger Waters himself.

The Their Mortal Remains note was kind of a “self leak.”

Maybe he leaked it as a way to get it officially announced/released.......(ANIMALS)

Certainly - just as we can note every delay, obfuscation, and duration of any ongoing radio silence that might exist, as well as our thoughts on them (in the words of Robby Hart, "YOU WILL LISTEN TO EVERY WORD I HAVE TO SAY!")

Waters leaked it to pressure Gilmour into releasing it asap. You can see how well that worked out. :sigh:
Blame Waters if you don't like getting teased. It's not our business.

Agreed, it may not be Steve Hoffman Forum business, but it is my opinion. And it belongs here like anyone else's opinion.

All I want is a CD/Bluray release similar to the one for Amused To Death. I'm really hoping there will be options unlike the special box for The Division Bell. I don't need vinyl and doodads. Just give me the CD and surround sound please.

Was the listing of the release date that was posted with Their Mortal Remains not official?

As opposed to coming off all shocked when people comment on the thread’s subject (as the Topic Not-sees desire)?

    “Opinions - how utterly common!”

That listing would seem to have been an unofficial (not official) comment (not a statement) from an official-adjacent (but not official) source - basically, something to notice, but not to heed (and definitely not to discuss, I am given to understand).

Possibly that; possibly a way to belittle DG in place of the thwarted liner notes so exquisitely tailored to that end.

If/when it’s released, I’ll happily pick up one of the less expensive versions of it.

But truth be told, after picking up all the HD digital releases last fall, I’m comfortably tapped out of my Floyd budget. I’ll at least be eager to read all of your reviews on the Animals reissue.

Norco74 For the good and the not so good…

Very entertaining thread I must say. Some people will probably go cold turkey about it once Animals 5.1 and bonus is finally released.

For those who don’t know and could use a laugh (beyond that provided by my posts, of course), please do look up an author by the name of Patrick Rothfuss and the wait for the final book of his trilogy (which has gone on a bit longer than that of this Animals release).

In fairness to Rothfuss, I think he’s a fantastic writer, one of my absolute favorites.

  23. Po, talking about his latest book, next to somebody whose liner notes became controversial. The linked video comes with the title:
"Exclusive Footage from Aubrey Powell's talk on London UK 19/05/22...
    PF Animals release update":

During the interview with Po, he was asked a question about Animals...

"Yes, it will be coming out shortly. I was working on it today in fact. I’m just preparing it for release."

Liam, from AFG Forum posted that a release date was given, which I failed to spot during the interview. Being pretty vague he wrote that it wouldn't be out in June but would be out before the end of the year. That's a pretty easy prediction.
