I completely forgot I pre ordered this Just got an email from Amazon Japan saying I should get it by 10th august 6 days from japan to the uk seems pretty quick…. £60 on something I’ll probably watch once, a fool and his money etc….
Why on Earth is this not a hybrid SACD (plus Blu-ray) with the original quad mix included? As kinda cool as this package already is it would have been impossible to resist had the quad mix been included.
I still haven't pulled the trigger myself. I promised myself I was going to reduce my spendings in records, but that's proving to be harder than I thought
None of this looks much value to me, but please someone correct me if I've missed something (I didn't scour the release notes). I love Atom Heart Mother, but isn't this mainly that same album played over newly cleaned up Super 8 or 16mm footage, itself with no live audio of its own? As I say, I might be wrong, but I haven't yet cottoned on to what's worth having in this release.
That's the old one from TEY. Supposedly you have new audio on this release which was recorded in Hakone (audience recording I would think). Probably out of synch too.
Yes. But as I understand it, they restored only the picture quality. Well the original announcement by Sony Japan is vague. They're not talking about the audio at all. They're not even saying how long the Bluray feature is.
I'm proud of myself for not buying this. Since I didn't buy it, it will turn out to be awesome, so you're all welcome.
Ooooh Kay, so now I understand less about this enigmatic release than I did when I knew next to nothing!
Ordered mine through, CD Japan, got an Email off the this morning, to say it’s been sent. Really looking forward to this set.
I was working with the best sources I had at the time. I guess they felt my work was good enough to release professionally.
I was not criticizing that work, I was responding to a poster here who asked if it was the studio version on the video the bluray. Congrats on you having a part on the video material provided in TEY Didn't know that.
It's a "loose synch" as expected. Image quality is quite stunning especially considering what we've been seeing for decades. Audio may be the source originally used for the film but cleaned up. Might just be a new source. It's as long as the original film. The extra footage is treated as an independent clip.
