Yeah a bit of a letdown and I doubt Syd is even on it.

No way! Now we know why Norman took it.

I'm not too disappointed, in that mystery's solved and we now know what it isn't ~ an unreleased Floyd song, instrumental or otherwise. It always sounded like a novelty title to me, I'm surprised it's actually a serious song with earnest lyrics. Too bad Syd seems to've sat out, unless guitar appears later in the song.

Amazing how these things turn up eventually. Renews my hope that we'll hear I Get Stoned someday....

I'm inclined to think its Waters, Wright and Mason backing him on acoustic. They only did one take squeezed in after their recording session so they probably learned it quickly and didnt put much effort in because it was just a publishing demo. Its plausible its a 2nd demo but why would he make a second lame demo around the same time?

Assuming he made one with them, why shouldn't it sound like this if Butler wasn't a psychedelic rocker (which the song itself confirms....and he was buddies with Norman Smith). The drum beat is believably Mason to me. We can't prove it, I guess. But if there were another EMI session logged for this song title, that surely would've been noted long ago, right?

Actually I hope, since 'Henry' was found, that 'She Was A Millionaire' will also be re-found sometime.
I don't completely believe they wiped this song from the tape(s), as Norman Smith and Peter Jenner said this would be the "next big Pink Floyd single" around/after 'See Emily Play'.
Of course it's still unlikely it still exists (...until it proves otherwise).

There must also be The Committee soundtrack somewhere, made by Syd and a few others (not Pink Floyd). Jenner claims that Max Steuer has it and Steuer claims Peter Jenner has it.

I believe the question there is whether it was ever rough mixed down before it was wiped over. If not (as history asserts), there's nothing to find ~ except the tracks themselves, if contrary to all hope they weren't actually wiped. Otherwise, I think Jenner just assumed they could re-record it for a single, which never happened : (

Those Millionaire backing tracks from '70 definitely exist, though...!

Meanwhile the Pink Floyd management (Paul Loasby apparently, through Lana Topham) has said about Early Morning Henry that "it seems to be a fake".
Some Floyd fans however just laugh this away. It's waiting for Butler to reply, I guess.

I think about the best they could do for a second album to better "keep up appearances" that Syd's still involved in the band would have been something like this...still only 4 Syd writing credits, but it flows well as a record.

    Side A
    1. Vegetable Man
    2. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
    3. Remember a Day
    4. Apples & Oranges
    5. Paint Box
    6. Jugband Blues

    Side B

    7. Let There Be More Light
    8. Scream Thy Last Scream
    9. Saucerful of Secrets

I like SonicLoveNoize's 'second album', The Shape Of Questions To Heaven.... where he realized "Golden Hair" segues perfectly into "Set The Controls"!

Or you could make that into a weird double-LP.

I made a similar tracklist for an alternate Saucerful years ago, using the exact same tracks (plus 'Embryo').

Whenever I read anything like this these days, my first thought is...

    Where's Chris M?
