Hmmm. I am getting a site not currently available. I'll try again later.

I don't know when this picture is from, but I love it:

Hmm, the problem with unavailable pages could be because of your browser's cookies maybe? Try to delete them and reload the page, hope that helps.
Can you save the pic directly from the thread? It's the same size as uploaded originally.

And yes, I like this photo, too! I'd prefer this as an inner artwork if the second album would've been packaged as gatefold.

Would like to know it, too. Everytime when I see this pic I automatically think they stand under the Golden Gate Bridge. ^^
But of course it can be any bridge in the world, probably this was shot in the UK or during their European concert tour.

While I look at the photo much closer, it's looks like the London Bridge.

Obviously in the latter days of the original quartet. Note Nick's mustache, Syd's long hair, Roger's long hair (and no groovy shades). Pretty much the same look they had in the 5-piece photos from Jan' 68. I'd mention Syd's haunted look, too, but I may be reading too much into it. :sigh:

They wouldn't have included Apples And Oranges back then because they didn't use singles on LP's

I know, but it looks like the stereo mixes of this song and 'Paintbox' were made at the same time like the mono mixes.
So eventually it was planned for being part of an LP before they chose the two songs as a single release.

It's not a bad idea. Being an instrumental, the low level of vocals on the live recording isn't an issue - and they may not have been able to capture the same fire in the studio..

Yes, but they were obliged to this time, since they were a little short of material, and christmas was coming ;-)

I like this one very much also.
Actually, I think this one and the one I mentionned come from the same session.
There are a handful of other shots from that session, either outside (with the wind effect) or in the church.
I guess the 'junkyard' pictures come also from that session.
They are all great, and this session is one of my favourite.
We have to choose amid these ones !

The picture you picked for the 2nd cover artwork up, Andrew, is from the US tour. It fits with the period.
Thanks for making all these tests.
I would still prefer the church/bridge/junkyard session though
    ;-)

Yes, this one is fantastic and it's like the twin of the spheric picture on the Saucerful cover.
    Go for it Andrew !

    Ah yes, that looks great!
Okay guys, should I make it more 'Saucerful album cover'-like or staying at some more liquid light stuff?

Because of the photo's fish-eye effect I rapidly had the cover of The Byrds's first album in mind.
And this came out of it. Maybe I should re-color the band logo later.

I had a glossy cardboard sleeve in mind where the colors (and especially the band logo) would reflect brighter when you hold the cover under lights.

This is one I came up with: PinkFloyd2.jpg »

Could work for any fictional second album that includes Set the Controls, I presume...
