Looks cool. Wonder how it had look like if Pink Floyd was a 5 piece band for a longer while than only a month. Especially if they made more recordings together as five guys.

I think that's the fascination with the whole 68-70 era. At least for me. What if, while the other four played live, Syd had been kept on as a part-time writer/studio contributor for the band he started, submitting (with help from his bandmates) 2-3 songs each for a couple of more Floyd albums. David and Roger helped him on his solo releases in '69 and '70. A few of those tracks could have been drafted in to be PF tunes (with overdubs from the others) instead and Syd's involvement slowly fazed out over a few years, had history and the band dynamics gone a bit differently.

With your permission, here are my thoughts about this cover :
I like your first artwork better. The columbia logo takes too much space here. You shouldn't use it.
But I admit it could be hard to combine the liquid-stuff with this picture.
    Thanks for all your efforts.

Okay I could omit the EMI/Columbia logo and make the photo uncovered and directly placed in front of the liquid light stuff.

    That's it !
The first is really the one I dreamt of : the Junkyard picture with your liquid artwork. A last touch : keep your great pink PF logo and omit the columbia.
    Thanks Andrew.
    This is the one !

I wasn't sure if I also re-include the additional letters or not. Let me know if that's an okay one.

I don't know why I can't see any of these images anymore. Andrew, could you maybe paste them into a post for me. Or be willing to e-mail them to me. Must...have...cool....artwork for my 2nd Syd album project.

    Thanks!

I prefer to include company logos on 1960s album covers, it looks more authentic.

I agree, and it's a great looking logo too!

Thanks! The logo is actually coming from a vinyl single sleeve. Seldom used on real LP front cover.^^

  14. My tracklist includes a few '68 pieces that conceivably could have made it onto the 2nd album. I think this would flow pretty well.
    Side 1
    01 In The Beechwoods
    02 Apples and Oranges
    03 Set The Controls
    04 Vegetable Man
    05 Effervescing Elephant
    06 Scream Thy Last Scream

    Side 2
    01 Paint Box
    02 Latham (extract)
    03 Remember A Day
    04 Swan Lee (Silas Lang)
    05 Julia Dream
    06 Jugband Blues

    This looks cool.
Does a recording of 'Silas Lang' (still) exist?

  16. A Floyd version? Not sure, but the demo and early takes were recorded by Syd before the band released Saucerful of Secrets.

"Swan Lee" would've been a great addition to the second Pink Floyd LP and I usually include the demo when I'm making a fantasy playlist.

Did you try another browser or deleting cache and cookies?
And, do you not see my pics only or all forum's pictures anymore?

  22. It does miss a few cool songs, like Bob Dylan Blues, the BBC tracks (particularly 2 of a kind) and Rhamadan, but it collects most everything else syd created outside of Floyd.

Yep, I think 'The Madcap Laughs', 'Barrett', and 'Opel' are in that box plus some bonus tracks.
I have the 1990s CD remasters of 'Madcap' and 'Barrett' already, and actually wanted to buy 'An Introduction To Syd Barrett' on vinyl sometime soon before I go into more of his solo works again.

It is just your Tumbler images. I have tried different browsers and deleted cookies. I get a square with an "x". If I try to save it, I get an error. And if I try going to your Tumbler link, it gives me a "site not available".

Weird. But I really want these. If you paste them in a post, will they keep the picture quality?

Okay, but when other people can see my Tumblr pics then you maybe have to delete Tumblr related cache and cookies. If this won't work I will re-upload them but on my Facebook profile.
