Nobody from Nick’s Saucerful of Secrets band is on this new Pink Floyd recording — except for Guy Pratt, who played bass on The Division Bell, and every or nearly every Pink Floyd live gig since Roger left the band (every Floyd tour, post-Waters).
Am I dreaming that the video is premiering right now!! — in 60 seconds — here in the US? (East coast time) Edit: Yup, it’s about to happen NOW!!!!
100% behind this. Gilmour's solos are achingly beautiful and Mason does his bit perfectly. Good stuff.
Didn’t expect to like it this much on first listen. Quite, quite wonderful. And the video is haunting, much more so than the Pripyat footage in the Marooned video. David still has his unique way of getting you to feel his his guitar solos. He must have been particularly inspired for this.
Looks like a K2600 under Mr. Sawhney's fingers in the video clip. Wright played one at Live 8 (although he also had a real Hammond onstage, this one is just emulating that sound)
Love Gilmore's solos but I think the fact that its not in english it will be lost on most people. Sounds too much like some kind of traditional song and not Pink Floyd.
I'm going to wait until after work to listen to this. I want to be in the right mood for a new Floyd song. Good thing I have tomorrow off as well!
Ah, I didn't know Guy Pratt was involved in Floyd. I thought he was just part of the SoS band. I must admit I don't know who has played in Floyd since Roger left other than the core members.
Utter garbage, the heart is in the right place but my god what a pathetic move to call it Pink Floyd. Pass me the bucket...
