Some stores never even get one copy of certain highly desired LPs.

Seems a little too good to be true, doesn’t it? I would have guessed closer to 2x that much.

I just saw this thread - the superdeluxeedition site states that the vinyl master was cut from "the original analogue mono master tape". Has this, in fact, been confirmed as an AAA release? If that's so, why are Guthrie and Plante involved?

Yeah. This lack of specific info about an actual second disc irks me.

The only thing I had seen was mastered from the original mono tapes. I went and looked and this is the first I have seen of any mention that it is cut from the analog tapes. All specualtion up to now has been the guys involved cut the other reissues from high res files so the assumption was this has to be the same. But the blurb on the site you mentioned does say cut. I will say the hype sticker itself says remastered from the original mono mix, not cut.

I just hope it's mastered better than the one time we got Piper in mono on CD. That sounded terrible, and I know the original vinyl sounded pretty good!

yep plus the supposed around 20 dollar price is already too good for a single disc pink Floyd reissue let alone 2LPs. so seems unlikely given the only descriptions and images have been a single LP.

The mono mix of the album was released at least twice on CD. Do you mean the 1990s release or the 40th Anniversary Edition from 2007?

We got 2 mono CDs: one in 1997 and one in 2007. The latter was much better.

The one that came in the textured top little box. It also had the stereo version of the album, and extra tracks. Probably the 2007 one (?). I'm not sure. I sold it.

Wonder if there's a high res version of this pic around already.
I saw many complainings from people about the package in several annoucement pages (they think the original album sleeve is missing) so they obviously didn't see this pic yet.

The green box is from 1997.

And the red book is the 2007 release.

It’s the same exact nuanced language used on the hype stickers for the other Pink Floyd vinyl reissues - except the word “mono” was inserted.

I would fully expect the same process and people to be involved as with the other reissues.

I highly doubt this will be AAA. This is the same team that did the vinyl reissues two years ago with the Sax/Grundman cuts, so it seems to be a continuation of that series - and very good releases they were.

Wow! Really? Who knew such a thing?

But then, of course, I was responding to a post specifically about Bull Moose’s RSD leftovers.

Ahh! I've had both, and neither sounded as good as the mono vinyl. A friend of mine had a copy that I heard many times, and neither CD version has the same punch. Both are a bit tinny to these ears.

The Facebook post from PF also doesn't mention that but includes a link to the RSD page.

How limited are these releases going to be? Is there any likelihood that I might be able to snag a copy?

6,000 copies in the US and 15,000 in Europe.
