Probably the same source, all of the BBC stuff from the box came directly from the BBC (who unfortunately don't have the best available sources for the 1967 stuff)

There was a temporary forum moratorium on turning threads into Beatles threads.

Okay that's good to know. Weird that a lossy file was included. Hope there aren't any other issues audiowise in the box set...

I counted the individual pieces of memorabilia in each of the books as follows:

    PFREY1: 8
    PFREY2: 4
    PFREY3: 5
    PFREY4: 4
    PFREY5: 4
    PFREY6: 7
    PFREY7: 0

Making a total, across the seven books, of 32 items. Plus the 10 larger items, stored below, makes a grand total of 42 items.

Usually I don't check out unboxing videos. But this is one I have to watch right now. Thanks!

My box was UK bought and I'm another whose Bluray 1 in the bonus book is not playing properly. My player is a Pioneer.

I get the title screen but no menu.

I checked both BD discs in my UK-bought copy, and both play fine on my Sony BD player.

Should sound identical or better (w/o broadcast compression).

Actually it could also be limitations at the source tape. Many of the tracks on The beatles bbc albums that were from the bbc archives were second generation copies (first generation being lost) and they had nothing above 14-16khz.

My guess is the BBC was supplied with a lossy source and that's their copy, most likely the MP3 which circulates and sounds a little better than the BBC broadcast. Reports say RiG and Controls are the old copies, though, and those were rebroadcast along with Flaming, so I don't understand why those wouldn't be the better quality heard in the rebroadcast. Guess that may've been the BBC's error in pulling their sources, but shame this wasn't more thoroughly examined instead of just relying on what the BBC pulled.

Anyone out there who has an Xbox One? Does this certain BluRay work there?

This definitely looks lossy sourced. Transients, background noise, everything cuts off in a hard line. It also matches exactly the circulating MP3 source's cutoff.

If you're referring to bluray disc 1 from the bonus volume, yes, it plays without any problem on my ps4

Amazon UK purchased and it plays just fine on an older Sony BD player (BDP-S470) in the US. No issues with BD content on this one or ST/ATION (only two tested so far).

So this probably could be BluRay-update related?

It seems there's an extra booklet in the Japanese copies.

My Continu/ation Bluray 1 does not play on my XBox One or my Pioneer disc player. I've just noticed that there is a fingernail sized imperfection on the disc surface at the outer edge - it's lighter than the rest of the surface with two bubble-like spots within it. Has anyone else with a non-working disc got anything like that on theirs?
