I'm another one of those who love the DVD edit. You get a much better sense of the show in terms of the stage lights and effects.
I "found" the DVD in a box on top of my wardrobe with some other stuff I forgot I had bought (my missus had very kindly tidied it away for me!). I'll have to give it a spin, see if I can spot the differences.
Can anyone with a 5.1 system please let me know if the sound of "PULSE" 2006 or 2019 is better? An acquaintance tells me that the 2006 one is better in terms of sourround effects, is it true?
Looks like Knebworth 90 is getting a cd/vinyl release in April https://www.amazon.co.uk/TBC-PF-LIVE/dp/B08Y4RQGXJ/ref=tmm_acd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Very tempting! But I am starting to be glad that I never got the physical box (I got the audio-only download) if they keep releasing the bits individually...

Interestingly the new Shine On single is a "2021 Edit" and only 10 minutes long, compared to the 11:06 on The Later Years 1987-2019
I guess that (sort of) answers my question whether they might relent on the really glaring edit on “Comfortably Numb”.
The Apple Music/iTunes listing has it at 11:05. The duration is visible only if you look at it in the iTunes app.
Wow I wasn't expecting that! Cool cover too. I'll definitely get the vinyl. I suppose there will be a CD+DVD+Blu-Ray Deluxe package at some point too. My biggest wish was Venice, though. Also, while I don't mind to see these standalone releases, PFR is still milking The Later Years, and no sign of Live At Pompeii, Live At Wembley and Live At Earls Court.
Hard not to wonder if it’s because they need a certain fourth person to sign off on new iterations of the Early Years/etc content? Whereas they can milk the Later Years stuff to their hearts content quite easily.
Doesn't Apple Music still require singles to be 10:00 or less? I remember Bowie had to edit the title track from his ★ album for that reason
Clarification: the Apple Music/iTunes listing for "Shine On" on the album says 11:05. The single (Apple Music only) says 9:59.
Yes, the preview track released on digital platforms today is a new “single edit.” The album will have the full-length version.
I imagine that would have been announced at the same time if it was going to happen but who knows? The Pink Floyd release strategy is regularly baffling.
