I guess you're right, I figured the kids were older. Geez, the last full tour was over 25 years ago already.
Yes time marches on... the 2006 OAI tour was the first Floyd-related gig I was legally old enough to drink at!
Having watched the Live 8 concert on Youtube, I now get other links, so I finally watched the full Palestinian show in 2010 with Rog and Dave. It was a nice set and they seemed pretty buddy buddy at this one. Shame they're back to fighting and can't do a show or two. Call it the Two Suns in the Sunset (I did not come up with this) shows and keep it limited before they start at each others' throats again.
I like what David does at 42.30 to 42.46 during the CN solo. Good capture of the lightshow during Welcome To The Machine
PFM have messed up on youtube twice now with audio uploads of Knebworth. Last week it was Great Gig but ended up playing Shine On and again Today was ment too be premiering Money from Knebworth but Shine On audio is being played yet again
All this talk about Live 8 made me look up those videos again. After watching a couple of them on YouTube (all taken from the DVD box set) it made me curious about the bits and parts where they (specifically David and Roger) are physically playing stuff on their instruments and the sound that we actually get to hear it's something very different. So natutally, I went looking for the actual broadcast of the show (I have it on VHS somewhere) and found a much honest -and real- representation of the actual gig without all the overdubs and polishing done in post. I like it a lot. Can you guys spot/hear the subtle difference(s)?
Anyone know why there appears to be a lot of merch being promoted on the official website for Animals, including some new designs on t-shirts/sweatshirts? No new mix though.
I saw that too. Maybe they had everything ready for that box that never came to be and now are putting the stuff on sale because the remix is indefinitely shelved.
Money is the most obvious on the Live8 boxset it has an echo on David's vocal which was never on the original broadcast. I don't get why they added that they did it on Pulse too
yep it is like that on the studio recording with the echo effect its also on Money Knebworth 90 & DG Live at Pompeii
If I remember correctly, they sort of fixed it on the official release. I'm not sure. Haven't watch it in a long time.
good god they have uploaded CN from Knebworth audio and its shorter then before the video footage is due at 5pm They have butchered this with the edits
I've always wondered why Gilmour always sings "a distant shipsmoke...", whereas in the studio version and the '80-'81 live versions it was "a distant ship, smoke..." which, to me at least, sounds better.
