Which is a real shame. I know it’s my least favourite album but a three disk set of
    • Album in original order
    • Demos and singles
    • DVD/BR of the video EP and a 5.1 mix
    would be really sweet.

Agree. That video EP should of course have been included with the 2004 remaster. Missed opportunity.

This is how a full DSOT would like:

    1. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V)
    2. Signs of Life (Video only)
    3. Learning to Fly
    4. Yet Another Movie
    5. Round and Around
    6. A New Machine (Part 1)(UNRELEASED)
    7. Terminal Frost (UNRELEASED)
    8. A New Machine (Part 2) (UNRELEASED)
    9. Sorrow
    10. The Dogs of War
    11. On the Turning Away
    12. One of These Days
    13. Time
    14. On the Run (Video only)
    15. The Great Gig in the Sky (Video only)
    16. Wish You Were Here
    17. Welcome to the Machine (UNRELEASED)
    18. Us and Them (CD only)
    19. Money
    20. Another Brick in the Wall Part 2
    21. Comfortably Numb

    22. One Slip (Video only)
    23. Run Like Hell

May I remind you that the original release only had 14 tracks (out of 23) and the CD had an extra tracik ("Us And Them"), making it 15. So 8 tracks are missing from the original audio release.
Signs of Life, On The Run, The Great Gig In The Sky and One Slip were released on video.

Would the re-recorded drums/remixed Momentary Lapse be part of this set? I wonder if that was a finished thing.

I believe Ron hinted as such being the case.

  6. Somehow, I missed this thread when it went from speculation to something really going to happen.

As long as it's reasonably priced, I'll be handing over my $$ as soon as it's available.

What I want more than anything else...

    1) Blu ray or 4k DSoT
    2) Remix/remaster of AMLoR on CD or Hi Rez

Everything else is icing on the cake. More concert video and additional footage, studio sessions, outakes, interviews - it's all good.

I did? I recall posting that it was tried and abandoned some time ago but don't recall hinting that the project was revived. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there any good boots out there that feature a new machine and terminal frost being performed?

When Rick and David were playing it together on Dave's 2006 tour, it was pretty special, transcendent, even. Certainly Nick was missed (and Roger for that matter), but that ship had sailed.

Those 2006 performances of Echos were really something special. So glad I got to be there for a couple of them that tour.

To be fair to me, I was 4 during that tour so have no memory of it! Considering how exhaustive The Early Years was, I'm not being that unreasonable.

Maybe I was looking too much into the italicized "was". I just took it as a subtle confirmation:

To my best of knowledge only October 20 1994 got professionally filmed.
The day before might have been test filmed and MTV and some news channels shot some songs for promotion, but nothing more than that sadly.
I'd love to be proven wrong though.
I do hope they have dug out at least Astronomy Domine for this release :)

If that LATER YEARS box ever comes out, and if it sells properly (which I have no doubt about), I'm sure two or three years after that they won't resist putting out a last box, to cover everything from 1973 to 1983. After all, the three IMMERSION sets will be really quite old and far away.... And then we'll finally have a full concert film of the Wall by the Floyd, and the uncut studio versions of The thin ice, the show must go on, etc... along with Empty spaces/What shall we do now. :pineapple:
    Call me optimistic ! :D

If they needed to engineer a release, they could marry the full shows from the "Beating The Bootleggers" part of Pulse with the many soundboard recordings they used to create the audio version of Pulse. ;)

You are really optimistic. As a Floyd fan i always expect the worst from them.

The Early Years covered 6 studio albums and then some, The Later Years covers 2. It was noted that TLY would be only post-Waters material but you included a lot from that era in your wish list. So yeah, a bit unreasonable.

I have always been under the impression that the audio version of Pulse was properly mixed by James Guthrie using multitracks sourced from around 20 European/UK leg shows.

I missed the bit about it being post-Waters, though! Some of these threads move fast.

According to this Pulse (Pink Floyd album) - Wikipedia - about 15 shows were used for the audio release.

Still mixed from multitracks afaik. Multitracks and soundboards are different things as you might know.

Well, this thread is quite snarky. I didn't realise I had to pass an entrance exam to comment.
