I like that one too, and imo, I think what became artwork for TDB 5.1 disc would have worked as well.

I like it, but I can understand why they didn’t want to use it, as they probably wanted to keep this from looking like The Division Bell, part II, which it’s not. It may be outtakes, but those outtakes don’t resemble the album it came from all that much.

When I feel the itch to listen to either album, I still reach for one of the two mashup projects that combined TDB and TER. It makes for a much more varied listening experience, and some of the songs on one nicely comment on the other.

Only just got around to watching this in full - lovely to hear, first time I've heard it performed live by any incarnation of Floyd (heard Roger perform it on the US & Them tour though).

What a fine solo from Tim Renwick. This has always been my favorite version of ABITW 2

    THE ENDLESS RIVER (2014)
A short while back came across an artist who posted the following on his professional webpage…

06/2014 ‘The Endless River’ – Ian Emes Production
Working as an art director’s assistant and performer in the making of a 50 minute film production to be released in tandem with the new Pink Floyd album. Birmingham, UK.

The entire album will be accompanied by the video that he was referring to.

    VIDEO EXTRAS
Various screen films, interviews, EPKs, promos, rehearsals, etc. The stuff we’ve come to expect. Specifics to be revealed with the official announcement - gotta save a few things for a surprise and to speculate about.

It was worth being there for both shows, indeed! Perhaps you have heard my recordings, they do circulate in the usual spaces.

Sounds like we’ll be getting a lot of great video content. Hopefully audio rips will be included on CD or as a download.

    Sounds good. I appreciate that
    The Endless River
isn't everyones cup of tea, and I'll take every other Floyd studio album over it with the exception of Ummagumma, but it is a gentle, musically eintruiging instrumental journey - especially in 5.1. For someone who particularly enjoyed Into The Beechwoods, The Committee pts 1 & 2, Moonhead and similar instrumental tracks from TEY box, all this sounds promising, especially
any rehearsal footage or audio, over and above what was on the TER box set Blu Ray. That I've just put on in the lounge right now to enjoy

Will this include a Blu-Ray with the 5.1 version of the album?

    What's wrong with Ummagumma?

  23. Oh man, I absolutely *LOVE* TER.

And now I'm super intrigued by that particular word you put in italics in the last (bottom) line in your spoiler (and now that I've quoted your spoiler, it looks like everything is italics -- so I made the word 'red' in what I've quoted).

Not necessarily a huge deal, but definitely interesting!! :)

Nothing per se, I've just never managed to get to grips with the studio disc other than Grantchester Meadows. Its not for the lack of trying and I love everything the band have done pre-Dark Side. I've happily sat though and enjoyed the album AHM suite and the various live.& WIP version on The EarlyYears. I do return to studio Ummagumma every now and then, to see if something clicks but it hasn't yet.

I rewatched Bruce Lee's The Big Boss on DVD this afternoon, which had clips on the Cantonese soundtrack from the opening of Time (tick ticking bass) and an excerpt from Grand Vizier's Garden Party so some of it has obviously sunk in. (I've love to know if royalties were paid or if not, how the film gets to be reissued with those excerpts on) But nothing that I love end to end like everything else from the pre-Dark Side era.

In case there will be individual volume sets again, maybe they will look similar as the book-shaped ones from the Early Years set?
