Nope, sorry Floyd not the one. The good one is on the Columbia label. Catalog number C2K-36183. It is either from Japan, the U.S.A., or Canada only.

The copy on eBay looks to be the original Havest (Capitol-EMI) version. The discs have a cool black label design.

Actually Keith, I believe it looks more like this. ;)

Dave, that's the original UK pressing you've shown. Isn't there a Japanese first pressing (the disc in question, and what Keith meant) that has an inverse design from what you've shown (black color coating, text/graphics silver)? I was under the impression that there was...:D

Michael, this is the one being auctioned on eBay and not the Japan version which never had this catalog number.

Well, the seller claims that the discs were made in Japan. The catalog number for my Japan-pressed black-label set is CDP 7 46036 8. So, I still say that the seller is offering the same set I have. The UK pressing that Dave showed is simply a later pressing.

I guess it could very well be Keith as I know that the Canadian C2K-36183 pressing came in both silver and black faces. The sheer Pink Floyd amusement of it all. :D

The first issue was pressed in Japan. I'm guessing that the UK pressing came once the Nimbus plant opened, which, as I recall, was in late '85.

I don't know when the Japanese pressing was actually pressed. True story. When I was a freshman in college in 1988, a local CD shop that stocked loads of imports had a sealed copy of the Japanese Harvest pressing. I doubt it was current as of 1988, but there it was sealed in a plastic blister pack. I can picture it on the display rack like I saw it an hour ago. It was $40, and I didn't buy it. For years, I kicked myself. Then last summer, I found a mint copy on eBay with a $15 Buy It Now. Strange, but true.

It is amazing what you can find on eBay sometimes. Some folks don't know or care about the significance of the items they are selling.
