I love this idea - I first read about this in a thread on here (my apologies I can’t remember which one).

Anyway I absolutely do this. The ceremony/way of records for me is as follows:

    1. Remove record from cover
    2. Remove record from archival inner sleeve (very carefully)
    3. Place on turntable platter
    4. Clean stylus with Onzow Zerodust (after every side)
    5. Remove debris from record with Audioquest brush
    6. Remove static with Furutech Destat III
    7. Lower stylus manually
    8. Adjust volume on my preamp
    9. Breathe
    10. Listen

Yes I realise how this might sound to the uninitiated but to any true believers they will understand my temae.

Oh and every record ultrasonically cleaned before it I hits my turntable - no exceptions.

My routine is just a little different but this is how I try to think about playing an album in order to fight the feeling of tedium. I am successful to varying degrees. All those years of CDs can ruin a person.

For me it’s about making every play an event - no background music for me. I only listen on vinyl on my two channel system. No other way -no other music in the house or car. Also time limitations mean maybe 2 records per night when home and that’s it. No room for tedium this is high magic
