Has one of my all time favorites been mentioned, Michael Clayton?

  15. Eh, I saw it coming from a mile away when I read the script. The whole they look like Demons aspect was a bit of a reveal.

  16. Winter Kills if you like a bit of satire with your thrillers and absurdity.

    Cutter’s Way

Both terrific thrillers with Jeff Bridges and John Heard in one of his best performances.

    Cutter's Way trailer

The latter is an existential thriller.

    The Beguiled - 1971 - Clint Eastwood.

NOT the Nicole Kidman/Sofia Coppola version. (I've never seen it)
What a weird, almost acid-trippy movie with some really kinky dark underpinnings.

Though I've never read the novel it's based on, I've heard it's even darker/weirder than the Clint/Don Siegel movie version.

I see it was posted upthread. So I second the suggestion of Silent Partner - 1978 - Elliott Gould, Christopher Plummer

  21. I’ve seen it a couple of times (The first in theaters—it’s pretty close to the script that was submitted without a lot of rewriting at least structurally—the second and third time was on one of the cable channels). I agree it is pretty disturbing.

Not sure if it's a thriller or just straight up horror. But I've always loved John Carpenter's "The Thing".

  25. As much as I like the film I would be hard pressed to recommend it to some people as well just because of the dark nature 9f the film but the end was more optimistic.
It’s a bit of both with Science Fiction thrown in for good measure.
