Oh yeah. And may still be the best one since then.

Heart of Mine, though I like the live version on Biograph better.

"Every Grain of Sand". It's close to top five favorite Dylan songs on my stereo. Every Grain of the Sands.

    "In The Summertime"

My favorite album of the religious trilogy since it's less heavy-handed.

I'm not at all a religious sort but I love "Property of Jesus" on this album. The whole album is quite good. Lenny Bruce and Grain of Sand being my other top favs. But "Property" rocks and I love that Dylan's classic sarcasm was alive and well even during his Jesus trip - "He's the property of Jesus, Resent him to the bone, You've got something better, You've got a heart of stone." Too much fun!

Yeah, that's my feeling on that track as well. I think Zimmy mentions something about not having the groove right on the album version. I would have been one of my favs on Shot but the Biograph version is so much better.

A vastly underrated record. And, for some strange reason, I had to vote for "Watered-Down Love."
Gotta go put it on now.

Another vote for Heart of Mine. Not denying the fact that Every Grain of Sand is a well crafted piece of work... Other choices would be Trouble, Lenny Bruce and the cozy In the Summertime. All round a pretty enjoyable album.

Every Grain Of Sand, but very closely followed by Shot Of Love.

"Heart of Mine" - a wonderfully under-played song where the rhythm picks up is counterbalanced and tempered by the slow sections.

And here is what the Shot Of Love cover looks like.
I think it is a contender for the worst Dylan album cover design (but that was a SH forum topic several years ago, if my memory serves me correctly).

Voted for "Groom's" even though it wasn't part of the original album. I never listen to the original album anyway, I play a comp of my own that includes "Need A Woman" and "Angelina", and gets rid of "Heart of Mine" and "In the Summertime."

Groom is a great song, but since it was not on the original album it is hard for me to consider it.

One of my favorite albums from Bob. I picked Lenny Bruce. I have always loved that line "He was an outlaw that's for sure, more of an outlaw than you ever were."
I think that Bob meant himself when he used the pronoun you.

Underrated album, probably my 2nd fave 80's record after Oh Mercy and less heavy handed then the previous two records.

Anyone know why Every Grain Of Sand has a bit of tape noise/hiss at the start, as if it has been recorded on a tape machine? Does every version have this? I only have the Biograph version but have cross checked them with two available studio versions on Vimeo which also have the noise.

Not a major problem but a little bit annoying, and I'd be minded to buy Shot Of Love if that has a cleaner sounding version.

My least favourite album in his discography (excluding the recent murdering of The Great American Songbook) containing my least favourite Dylan track - The Grooms Still Waiting At The Alter- and terrible production throughout.

Thank god Emmylou redeemed Every Grain Of Sand on Wrecking Ball.

This is as easy a Dylan poll as it gets. His greatest song released in the 80s: Every Grain of Sand
