Always remember, it's NEVER the fault of the typist.

Although if it's a Celine Dion typo, you might THINK TWICE in future.

These aren’t the ‘proper’ TOTP/Record Mirror charts, are they? They are different to how I remember them.

    Good morning.

I'm not sure, even of British authenticity. And then you've got the Official Charts Company. NME and Record Mirror I'd agree with you are probably the best but are their archives online? I see from your 70s threads that you post screenshots / printed pages of charts but it would be nice to have a working NME database!

Maybe I could do 1997 but not if this a series of yours.

Teletubbies Say Eh-Oh!... Tubthumping... Barbie Girl... maybe not. :biglaugh:

Even then I'd have to check for typos!

I always went by Record Mirror/TOTP charts. These were the official ones back then. Official Charts use these but their layout is a bugger to print out. I know of a site that has many old 70s RM issues, but almost no NME ones unfortunately

Hey, folks...kindly remember to keep this friendly :) Picking arguments may dissuade others' from participating & may get thread shut down, before some have even gotten a chance to cast votes, or add any songs they like.

Hey, I don't know why you said four when the poll says up to five. I also don't understand why you limit choices to four (5?).

So, i'll put my choices that you posted into four or five at a time.

    For this bunch, I selected:

Change The World - Eric Clapton
Where Have All The Cowboys Gone - Paula Cole
C'mon And Ride It (The Train) - Quat City DJ's
Un-Break My heart - Toni Braxton
    California - 2 Pac & Dr. Dre

Hollow Horse: In one of your earlier posts you used Solid Caps & no wink afterwards. Solid Caps should never be used on a Community Forum, at all. It's the text form of yelling at someone, indicative of being argumentative.

Grant: I made a mistake; not editing my text to read 5, rather than 4. There's a limited amount of time to make any edits. I'd realized, but the time had expired. I set a limit on it so that people would not list around 30 songs, in order to let everyone have a chance & participate.

Thank you all so much for your observations. (Are y'all auditors?!:laugh::winkgrin: - No offense to any auditors!! :hide:)

To clarify, BLOCK LETTERS are fine in threads - just not allowed in thread titles.

If I want to be argumentative I rely on my fluency in sarcasm.

Yep, Paula Cole only for me too.
Other favourites would be something off the first Lewis Taylor album, Prince's Emancipation, or Endtroducing by DJ Shadow. Too many good tracks on those to pick just one.

#13 No Caps, i.e. Block Letters = Shout.
Perhaps, your goal is to get my thread shut down. I don't know why anyone would be that mean-spirited.:shrug:
It might behoove you to read #12, as well.
I am asking you politely, once again, to keep things friendly here - no further attacks on this thread, please. :help:Kindly let other members enjoy themselves.

None from the list. Some of my favourites from that year:

    Neneh Cherry - Woman
    George Clinton - Summer Swim
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Scattered (Let's Think About Livin')
Prince - I Rock Therefore I Am, Soul Sanctuary, Dreamin' About You, New World,...
ZZ Top - Rhythmeen, Bang Bang, Black Fly,... (hell, the whole album)
Brian Setzer Orchestra - Hoodoo Voodoo Doll, Ghost Radio,...

Better than any of the choices..
    Soundgarden Pretty Noose

To each their own, but for my taste, while both are good songs I prefer "6th Avenue heartache" to "One Headlight".
