This poll points to choose the favorite records among the most acclaimed albums from 1967. You'll be allowed to select up to 5 albums from the list.

The confection of the list was based on these three sources:
    100 Greatest Albums of 1967
    Acclaimed Music
    Best Albums of 1967

The first condition to include an album in the poll was being in the Top 30 of at least two of those three lists. Then the two highest positions of each album were averaged to determine the relative order. In this way, the Top 25 albums of the resultant list were selected as nominations for the poll.

NOTE: If you think that one or more essential albums you would have selected are not in the list, then you can choose less than 5 options and name those records you wish they had been here.

    POLL: Greatest albums of 1965

Parachute Woman Sorry I can't stick to one avatar. I get bored.

    Strange Days
    Songs of Leonard Cohen
    Axis: Bold as Love
    The Who Sell Out
    Between the Buttons (US preferred)

I'd also write-in Chelsea Girl by Nico, another of my favorites of '67. I've always preferred Strange Days and Axis: Bold as Love to their more famous debuts. All great records, of course.

As usual, the Classic Rock obsessives have neglected such candidates as The 5th Dimension's Up, Up And Away, or The Magic Garden.

While you're down in there, how many other ostriches can you see...? ;)

I just want to say that not voting for an album does not mean despising that album, it just means you tend to see more merits in other albums. Still, I understand your position because I also had to left out many of my favorite records. But the poll would have not point if we could vote for all the albums we like, because the idea is select the most favorite records.

I voted for I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You, easily one of my favorite album of any time and any genre; and The Velvet Underground & Nico, which I feel similarly about but not quite as strongly as I feel about the Aretha album. After that I would have picked Miles Smiles if it had shown up on the list. There are other albums on the list I like, but none I listen to very much anymore other than those three.

I will preface this with not knowing many records from this decade yet, that's more of my own problem with having too many records after that but I digress.

    Surrealistic Pillow
    Days of Future Passed
    The Doors
    Sgt Pepper
    The Who Sell Out

I own the first two on vinyl if that gives an indication of how much I enjoy those two, still looking for The Doors s/t too. The others are good as well.

Yesterday I've listened to Goodbye And Hello by Tim Buckley for the first time. I think it's a very good album, pleasant folk rock with psychedelic embellishments.

I have and want to listen to the album again, but for the moment I think my favorite song is "Phantasmagoria In Two".

One of the best years ever for classic rock music. I cannot think of one album released in the last two years that would touch any of these.
